I can't let this shit go on no mo'.

In the last three monthes or so, I've broken like 5 downstems on my bong.

Probably two or three pipes...

And I still can't believe I ever let my original glass pipe (well I had others before it, but none that I took any pride in) and the original shroom bong break.

Well... I'm just done, man.

I'm not going to stop getting glass, but I'm not going to get another glass pipe (which is what I just broke tonight, it was like a $20 thing that I got for half off) until I save up enough money to get one I thuroughly like, which isn't that much money, and get that. I tend to be hard on stuff that ya know I'm glad I have but could do without, but when it's something nice, I get SUPER protective.

Also... My room is always a mess, and that makes it worse for my bong (particularly the downstem. Not the slider bowl, the downstem in which you put the bowl.) I can't change that, so I'm changing how I use the bong. It's going to go from a daily thing (I have a 3 foot acrylic ghetto rigged pile that I could use anyway) to maybe a tri-weekly deal. Special sessions and shit, with some reason to use it. Other than that, I aint leaving water in it, infact, I'ma put the fucker in my guitar case (which I don't use/ever open.) Or, up on a display shelf, where it wont be touched.

It's not even the money issue (well that's an issue but not the one that gets me...) I want my damn pipes to last. I just name them or start to really like them, and it's gone, or temporarily broken, etc.

Anyone else ever have a revelation like that...?

yup i broke a £50 weedstar the day i got it, so after getting a little sad orderd another witch i quickly managed to break 3 downpipes for, i orderd some more but they all broke very quickly.

it was then that i decided to take a "step back" to acrylic. i got an amazing 50cm thing with a bubble and a lift off cap. and i found out rubbing alcohol on acrylic works just aswell as it dose on glass.

The only bong that ever broke on me was broken cause of an ex girlfriend smashing it. Grrrr. I did however break an acrylic one once, tried to use some cleaning solution on it and it cracked. Such a rookie move.

With me, I always find that if I buy something real expensive(top of the line), then I take care of it, and it lasts forever. Case in point, I lost hundreds of sun glasses, until I bought a $400.oo pair of Maui Jim. I always put them in the case when I'm not wearing them, and there isn't a mark on them. I've had them for years, and I'm as careful with them as the day I bought them. Maybe you should do the same with your next purchase.

yeah dude...i broke my 65 dollar bubbler, which i got from a friend it was origanilly like 120ish but i was devistated when it broke

i used to break my shit all the time, but i stopped putting them in stupid places(i.e. back pocket, the floor by my feet..)
and keep them in a little cabinet or drawer when you sleep or leave or arent smoking..
i havent broke anything in atleast 8 months

Honestly the only way to get a bong that is going to last from every day use is to get a quality peice. RooR, Lux, Toro, illadelph, SG... to name a few. Honestly, try and spend as much as you can comfortably, because it will be worth it in the long run so you dont have to keep buying cheap glass

i'v broken a good downstem and a shitty one (one of those cheap rubber grommet bongs... downstem actually shattered in my hand trying to pull it out....) funny thing is... every glass iv broke was very similar. I'v broken two downstems, both the same way, trying to pull it out of the SAME bong.

On top of that, I'v broken two bowls... dropped them in the SAME spot...
