purple haze, does not exist. purple buds are not more potent. 100% purple buds with no green tend to be grown in the cold so they can charge more for their shwag (and yes i really do have a problem with many growers today using chem, not flushin, growin in the cold etc.)
you must have abosolutely no experience if you think your purp has been more potent than green, because the best strains are green. growers strive for the purple and therefore sacrifice other qualities to instead mix with a purple plant to get purple buds.

cmon man, while it may say purp in the name GDP is a mainly green strain. only VERY few of the plants will show a little purple if any at all (cannabible 3). honestly though i agree with everything else you said
and as for the poster: dude purp means nothing. probably just means they did some bullshit to the strain. get some green weed that has been grown for generations and bred for potency and taste and smell. i mean i love GDP, purp kush, and really any dark colored bud that was super fire. i mean ive had all colors: yellow(not a poorly grown plant), green, orange, red, purple, black....never brown though haha
