Home Made Active Carbon Air Filter (no 56k)

this will take care of cleaning your air, (smoke, smells, even freshens the air too)
okay
so i used a little plastic storage box with a lid
a small open fan
some panty hose
carbon granules
saran wrap (will change to hot glue, only used to make sure it was sealed)
and a reusable coffee filter(the plastic ones)
basically, i put the fan in the box, took a pvc big to small pipe adapter and put it through a hole in the lid of the box, and screwed it to the fan. then i put a layer of panty hose around the outside of the coffee filter. put another layer on top of the first, and put carbon in between the two layers. do another layer of carbon and panty hose. put this in the other end of the pvc adapter. cut two holes, one in each end of box. seal off all other cracks/ places where air can go without passing through the carbon.

voila!

works well, takes about 30 mins after a smoke session(3-5 bowls) in my room to clean all the air leaving it smell free

basically, the fan pulls air through the sides of the box and pushes it up through the coffee filter/carbon, cleaning it as it goes through

so a room sized carbon filter? thats cool. i made something much smaller in scale with carbon filtering (more or less like a carbon sploof)
