I have wondered the same thing too. Like, if it was the 60s or something (any previous decade, really) would getting high be pretty much the same? But from what I saw in that movie Grass narrated by Woody Harrelson, all the bud in those days looked like some stemmy Reggie Jackson.

Cant say for certain because I didnt smoke in the 90's. My assumption would be the good weed would be harder to find. I would think they didnt have as many strains. I would also think more weed was imported from outside the US rather than being grown here, which is no longer the case. I dont think growing indoors was as popular as it is now. I think in the late 90's is when the movement took off. When Cali passed prop 215 in 96 the hole marijuana scene took off and it hasn't looked back since.

I also think the 90's sparked a dramatic increase in marijuana usage with the hip hop scene coming into play along with countless other musicians/bands "promoting" (cant think of a better word) marijuana usage.

Another thing to consider is the effect the internet had on marijuana. People could exchange and learn information anonymously and easily instead of having to go to the library and feel "odd/concerned" (damnit cant think of a better word again) that someone would see them reading a book about pot.

Damn the 90's werent that long ago but it sure fucking seems like it! I can only imagine where marijuana will be in the next 10 years. I would think, hope, and pray legal. I will GUARANTEE it will at least be reclassified .

im only 23 but ive been smoking since i was 12. i remember the weed back in middle/high school still being the same as what i got in college. the only difference was the price.

then again i lived in hawaii and only came in contact with schwag/mids 6 months ago when i moved to the mainland.

I dont know about the 90's, but i do know about the 70's. My friend bought like 10 issues of High Times from 1977 off ebay. They have pictures of the differnt strains they had back then. Let me tell you something, no hydro, seeds were in! It all looks like shwag, but im sure it would knock you on your ass.

just like to point out that while modern purps may have similar genetics as the original, they are all crosses with other plants and therefore not pure purple. which i would imagine would be near impossible to find and discern from all the other 700 shades of purple

except for the fact that thc potency has been going up since decades before, whats amsterdam at now? just under 30% thc, thats outrageous. it hasn't always been that high... so no weed from the 60/70/80/90's not the same as the shit that goes around today.
