Help me Convince my parents to let me smoke

Not to bash you, but that post was not related to the question he asked at all. And to the comment you made about where you "come to a fork in the road where you decide the buzz is good enough or you try something different to achieve that same great feeling" is a load of shit. Marijuana does not have any type of gateway effect onto other types of drugs. I smoke marijuana daily and I've never had the urge to try "harder" drugs. Along with the fact that it's been scientifically proven that there is not evidence to support the gateway theory.

Sorry for my little rant but ignorance about things like that annoy me.

I'm not talking out of my ass..I've done countless research papers on THC, the medical sides of marijuana, the legality issues of marijuana. I'm not just "talking out of my ass." I know for the most part what I'm talking about, and I see someone else has already posted a link on how it's not a gateway drug but here is another one.

I agree that mj is not a gateway drug, but that study doesn't really prove anything. Most people say gateway meaning it leads to harder drugs like coke and meth etc. not alcohol and tobacco. The way I see it, people who are likely to smoke weed in the first place are much more likely to do harder drugs than someone who doesn't smoke weed. That doesn't mean that weed caused this to happen, it just the original personality of the person before they do any drug that determines what happens.

That is exactly right and I couldn't have worded it better. People's personalities determine whether or not they will venture into the harder drugs or not. Using marijuana doesn't make you want to do harder drugs like some people believe it will. The person would have delved into harder drugs regardless of their use of marijuana.

But curiosity made you want to use marijuana. So curiosity is the reason your do any drug.
You were curious about marijuana so you tried it. Then you saw XTC and you got curious how that would feel so you tried it.... its simple you dont use drugs because you used another drugs... Its all curiosity

And your wrong... because not all smokers have the same personality. Thats whats it about. smoking with people. You meet and find a wide variety of personalities every time you smoke with someone new.
