sup everyone. got a long story but i need your help

so a little about myself. I still live at home, just graduated and in community college. I've been blazing for a while now and i'm pretty sure that my parents have no clue that i blaze. I've never had one of those "back in the day i used to smoke bud all the time" talks. I'm a medical marijuana user in CA and now blaze daily and even "provide" to my closest friends without my parents having any clue. I have two huge bongs that i hide, a vape, a spoon, at least 20 jars of bud or stuff related to bud and a shit load of baggies.

so now to the story.
yesterday was the most bittersweet day EVER. I bought my first o ever at a local dispensary that i always go to and made the easiest 75 dollars in my entire life. My parents said that they were going to be gone until 8 o clock so i just sat at home and hit the vape and bong all day while they were gone. Well, my dad decides to come home at 5 o clock instead and he comes up stairs and says "it smells funny up here". I go back to my room and get kind of annoyed/worried that he's going to rat me out to my mom. Ten minutes later he comes to my room and asks to speak to me. he brings me into his room and says "it smells like pot, have your friends been smoking?" i tell him i don't know and he gets all up in my face (i think to try to smell my breath to see if i smell like bud). he says they need to leave and he left to go biking or something. I had to "evacuate" and now my two babies along with a vape and another huge backpack type of thing full of containers and stuff. At least a quad of my bud is at my buddies house now. I left the house for the entire night and came home and now i have no clue what the deal is with my parents. Don't know if my mom knows.

to my question (finally)
What should i do? should i just come clean and try to use the "i'm a medical marijuana patient and i need the medication" argument? should i just pretend that nothing happened? should i present them the facts before they ask me if i blaze?

you should still tread lightly, but honesty always goes a long way in a family.

Something similar happened to me, but your from California and you say that you use it for medicine reasons so its different. I was in my basement just smoking resin out of a bowl and my Mom was upstairs and she somehow smelled it. She comes down says "What are you doing it smells like pot". I just denied everything so she smelled my hands, smelled my breath, looked at my eyes and all came back inconclusive (I crack myself up). She then searched my whole basement found nothing. I am still denying it to this day. It kind of sucks because sometimes I just wish they would just know and not care but I don't think that will ever happen. I sometimes wish I did say I was, but I was 17 at the time and didn't want to deal with all of that drug test shit. Just tell him and say you are using it for medicine. Do you actually have a card or are you just using it?

i have a card and legitimately use bud for my asthma. I don't know if i should just come clean even if they don't say anything. I'm tired of having to hit the vape late at night and worrying about one of my parents knocking on the door and being so secretive and devious. Kind of sucks to be sneaking around all the time especially with the amount that i smoke and how much gear and bud i have. It's fucking crazy

Well take this into consideration

Would they want all that stuff in their house?

Although you may be of age and a legitimate user, they may not agree with it and not want it in their house.

You should come clean if you think your parents will handle it reasonably/understand.

If they are going to kick you out of the house and break your shit and you have nowhere to go then id advise against telling them, and Id just get the shit out of their house


I think you should tell them, honestly. You are 18 and a legal medical user so there should be no problem, but it is an odd situation (personally and legally) and everyone may not be on the same page

Just go with your instincts. If you think theyll handle it reaonably and not kick u out into the streets, then id go for it. I always hated being sneaky and its just more fun once you dont have to owrry.
PLus, you are your own adult, if they dont like it....TOO BAD. they really cant do shit about it and will eventually have to except it.

you'd actually be surprised how much less "exciting" it becomes when you can just smoke openly around the house - once i had the freedom, i realized sneaking around and worrying about getting caught was half the fun

man ,speaking as a parent myself to a 22 & 24 year old lads, your old man knows your smokin mate, but the question is does your ma know,yet?NO!...

have a chat wi you old man & tell him you have a smoke but dont take anything else(& do not tell him your growing,you'll be tossed out asap) but as for telling your ma,mmmm wait till you see what your dad says, my youngest stays with me(im divorced) & i knew he was smokin a long time ago,without him telling me, but would never tell his mother as mas are very concerned about drugs,RIGHTLY SO...not that its just a bit of herb,but to mothers drugs are drugs no matter if its weed or smack,crack,eckys or whatever,there baaaaaaaad ,simple as!....

also as your staying under there roof you have to show respect & that means no smokin in there house,no growing as THEY will get done by john law....do you want that?

your old man wil probably be cool but will not want your mother stressed thinking her baby(yeh,puke...but mas allways think of there kids still as there babies)is on "drugs",so not cool mate.

long post but my advice is ,do not go ahead with telling them both ,have a quiet word with your old man & see where it goes from there.
probably tell ya to smoke outside & this is the time where you'll earn his respect by being up front with him.

ps; GET RID OF GROW ROOM ,VERY UNCOOL BUD, DOING IN PARENTS HOUSE WITHOUT THERE KNOWLEDGE.

I think you should just come clean and have a talk with your dad, at least, when the time is right. Don't even mention growing or selling or anything, just say you smoke a little in the evening for whatever reason.

You're old enough to make your own decisions, you just have to make it clear that you will be respectfull of your parents home and the rules that apply under their roof (which means NOT growing in the house).

Why don't i deserve bud if i buy and sell stuff from dispensaries? i buy only from the dispensaries to give to my friends. I make almost nothing from doing this (5 to 10 dollars a sale if at all). It's just to hook up my buddies with some dank ass bud.

and just to make things clear, i'm not growing inside of my parents house. Just selling if you could even call it that. I know every single person that i sell to personally and it's not large amounts. just grams and eighths.

Whether "moral" or not, this is pretty common actually. I know a few dealers who solely work through dispensaries. I can't imagine the profit margin is very large though.

Try to get into an open discussion with your dad. You could go in lieing and feel him out. Tell him your friend were smoking marijuana, and ask how he would feel if you were doing it. If he's against it find out if its health or legal related. Explain to him how its not harmful for your health and that you can use/buy it legally. It sucks never coming out with it and always hiding it.
