i don't ever cough. But 90% of the time i get high I use a vape so maybe that helps. I still feel shitty after a big joint though and I rarely smoke them

ew i hate filling my bong with warm water. I always prefer ice cold water for a smoother hit. That's why some bongs have ice catchers for that cooler, smoother hit. Hitting a bong with warm water makes the smoke warm and i just don't like inhaling a whole cloud of warm smoke

i cough when i inhale improperly. like for example if i take too big a toke, or if i didnt take a few deep breaths before a bong rip.
you just have to know you limits so-to-speak. a friend of mine has developed a nasty cough from bongs, he attributes it to inhaling all the lighter fluid.. im not sure about the truth in that though. also taking tolerance breaks works wonders.
