Question for the parents here . . .

Wondering if other members of this forum are also parents. What if you get caught with weed? What kind of ramifications with your family and the law, especially if you have kids? simple possession? Big qty?

my friends parents smoke pot and they are semi open about it. it was kinda akward at first but now its not weird at all. if your family knows you smoke but you dont flaunt it (you dont do it when they are around) then id bet they would be respectful of it, no constant reminders. and as for trouble with the law, yes, pot is illegal.

lol, my sons smoke all my weed,my dad likes me to take a wee joint for him when i visit,he's 79
all my family know i smoke ,i made a point in makin sure they knew the situation, which is i dont drink but smoke copious amounts of weed, but wont smoke in front of or around kids/folks who dissaprove. thats out of respect/common politeness.

thats just my situation.

Ihave three kids and smoke alot, not in front of them but They sure can smell it.

The thing to remember is that smell is the strongest sense tied to your memory, or something like that (got that line from an axe commercial, i think) and even if it's a younger child and you don't plan on doing it around them when their old enough to understand, they'll remember that scent of marijuana with you, and when they get older and smell that smell again they'll remember you smelling like that. When I was 6 years old I moved, but I remember my next door neighbors house used to always smell like weed, and it's quite obvious as to who smoked it in that house. If you don't mind kids growing up and remembering you and that smell, then go for it. But if you don't want kids knowing I'd be very careful when smking around them.

So true! When I was younger I used to go out in the garage late at night to get a soda and there was always this smell I could never place, it was so nasty smelling. Then when I got older I got my first bong, and low and behold what I was smelling when I was younger was bong water. hahaha. I was like "OHHHHHHH DAMN, my mom smokes too!!"

Smoking around children under there teens is the worst thing you can do!

Same thing with cigarettes....

They should only have to inhale the stuff IF they choose to themselves....

its not right that you make them smoke the smoke because your to lazy to go outside or in another room or something!

I CAN Tstand ignorant ass holes that smoke around there kids.....

As a child, my mom always smoked at home. This was in the 60's and 70's. I grew up around it and loved the smell. I'd get contact highs sometimes, and realized it made me feel better, less anxious.
Back then there wasn't all the CPS crap they have now. So, if I had kids today, I'd probably keep it from them until they were in their teens. But I don't hv kids! Woo-hoo!!!!!
My hippy-ass mom is still tokin and eating bud today, btw. Yay bud!

And, I can think of a lot of worse things you can do around kids than smoke weed! LOL

I have a little one but I never smoke around him. I dont even smoke cigarettes in the house when hes home. I have shared parenting with my ex husband and hes home with me half of the week and with his dad the rest of the week. I dont usually smoke weed when he is home but if I ever do I smoke when he is I use my vaporizer in the bathroom when hes asleep. But my son has had chronic ear infections since he was a baby and has tubes in his ears. His doctor said cigarette smoke was really bad for his ears so I assume marijuana smoke isnt much different, not that I smoke around him anyway.

My dad smokes. Mom doesnt. Dad wont talk to me about it. Mom will. They both know I smoke. He has taken multiple pipes from me (cheap ass), and I have found his stashes. We have a mutual respect for eachother when it comes to weed now though. I smoke with his friends on occasion. (Im 18, hes 50) I sense the day that we smoke together is nearing.

A few of my friends parents smoke, like a few people said we dont walk around the house smoking just to do it, but we are allowed to smoke in his room or the kitchen if we're eating, and its not something they talk about everyday, its just known they both do it and its ok in the house
