Wanted: Bong

I've got around $300 to spend on a nice bong. I'm looking for function over appearance, but if seeing it makes my day whether or not I use it, I wouldn't mind. Any recommendations for brand or otherwise? I've been looking but I wanted to see if you guys would be a part of my search. Peace and Pot to all.

i got a straight 24" worked toro for 350, and i would definitely recoomend that company.

dont get a roor or toro or any of that super name brand shit. If i were you I'd go for a perc and diffused PHIRE bong, probably be like 250$ for 20'' then you can take what you save and buy some bomb bud to smoke it.

phires are no joke, they hit as good as any roor, with near-zero drag. They are a good bargain too.

i dunno if you can tell, but that pink one is stemless for 119$ at that shop... and phire pipes come with the best bowl ive ever seen.

I'm getting my perc'd straigh roor for 350 this week. Look at Lux, RooR, Ehle, Illadelph, JBD. They all are sweet. JBD has some sick looking tubes too.

Yeah, but JBD isn't JBD anymore. They went out of buisness a while ago and one of the bloewers that was there just uses the logo still to jack the price up on his peices. They still are a pretty sweet peice though.

I'd recomend PHX, Lux, roor, or even the scientist they have at GC with the removable perc. Either way, if you buy it at the store and not offline brands dont make much of a difference, its the overall feel and sound quality of the peice, the thickness etc.

Also, a company I will DEFINATLY recomend thats VERY well priced is Blue Dot. They have tree percs and Question mark percs, VERY thick glass and an awesome smoke.

I you want a perc'd tube, get a Lux, you get the RooR quality, with perculators. I think Illadelph looks fucking sweet, just because I like the name stretching down the tube, and the rasta labels look sweet. Good luck and I hope you post pics upon purchase.

To the OP: For 300, it depends on what you're looking for...You could get a Lux Mini for probably 250, and that's a 14" tree perc, I know Toro isn't taking "custom" orders, but I think they might have some stock percs that you can get from them...you could check into a nice perc from them...A RooR non-perc is always an option...or you could contact an artist, like FatMike, Darby, Honalee Glass, etc. and pick up a nice custom tube made to your specs.

It really depends on what you want...but also, what you have available to you.

Oh come on.. you can not honestly be comparing that Phire dome perc w/ a RooR tree perc...

those phires are not quality tubes, they are the only brand name tube that the shops in my college town carry, i have held them and seen them and they are of poor quality and design... yes a RooR or Toro is expensive, but htey are HIGH quality pieces of glass.. the thickness on those Phires is probably at best 4mm and the joints are shitty...

As far as how a phire hits compared to a RooR again not even close... the drag on a dome perc is WAY more than a tree perc its not even comparable, not to mention RooR percs are generaly acepted as one of the very best hits by tons of extremely expericed glass heads... Also as the guy above me said WHAT THE FUCK do you think is soo good about the phire bowl... thats is a mass produced POS that can be bought at any head shop for no more than 10 bux yea deffintly a really great bowl.. obiviously you havent seen shit for glass if you think it is the best bowl you have ever seen... so stop bad mouthing the companies that are acutaly producing new creative tubes as i am sure you have obviously never seen any of the shit that has come out of the Toro camp... can you say chubbler, tree perc ashcatchers, and even in the last few days introduced a 6 perc sax bong...

id go for an illadelph or a roor....percs are nice and all but cleaning them can be difficult and i feel as though a diffused downstem chillin in some fresh cold water and a neck full of ice will give you a very nice rip.....

oh btw, I got a mini lux tree perc locally, for 209$, with a roor ashcatcher and a padded carrying case (both of those came to like 50$.... (bag is cheap when you buy the pipe at the same time)

total for the lux tree perc (straight tube) and the ashcatcher/case came to under 300$. good deal. You can even get another diffused stem (it came with slits, but you can also get a roor diffused stem) and still get out under 300.

on the other hand, my blue-dot which is thicker and hits just as well came to only 160$. just bargain shop

Hey i dont got a bong but if i was going to spend 300 on one i would probably get a Perc'd RooR But thats just me get what you like n post a pic i wanna see what you choose

I'd go for a ROOR. Finding a Perc'd one might be hard and more than what you have to spend. If you're looking for a Perc'd peice, go LUX.
