somehow, my bowl that belongs to my bong broke, and i really liked it because it could fit almost a whole gram in it at a time. it broke into 3 pieces, so i decided to try and super glue it back together, and surprisingly, it looks perfect now, you can barely even see the small cracks.

i tried not to get any super glue on the INSIDE of the bowl, but only on the outside, but apparently, some has leaked it's way through. I was wondering if this is still safe to smoke out of? i don't want to smoke some random chemicals from super glue, do you guys think it's still safe? or is it not worth it?

anyone else broken a bowl and repaired it with super glue? how did it go??

thanks guys.

A friend broke mine and I repaired it with a glass epoxy. It works great unless you power through 3 or 4 bowls real fast. Usually when that happens the epoxy gets really weak and the stem breaks again. Mine also has some on the inside, and so far has been fine, but when the cherry gets too hot I do get somewhat of a nasty hit, presumably from the epoxy.

Yeah mine broke to, like right in half on the inside of the bowl only, I wouldn't use super glue, cause I was paranoid about the same thing, and tape doesn't sound like it would work lol..

I would not advise using super glue at all. Chemical residues are bound to come off and I would avoild inhaling that shit at all cost.

I'm sure you can. I'm pretty sure you have a grommit joint, in which case they usually come in 2 sizes, 8mm and 12mm. A lot of shops call it normal and "oversized". Bust out a ruler, or just eyeball it, then go to a headshop.

Don't use super glue. It slowly starts to come undone and you will start tasting it in your bowls, which is never a good sign. Then again it's a bong, so you probably don't have to worry about that. Either way, super glue isn't too super for long. It is better to tape it.

Drunk Dude: So why don't you give me the keys and let me hit you doing 60?

All those glues will leave harmful chemical residues in the bowl and in the bong water. Its better to spend $5 on a cheap slide than to risk thousand dollar hospital bills.

We got desperate and did that before, but it will come undone pretty soon. I guess if u dont flame it to hardcore and it doesnt get hot it might last a little longer, but when it gets to hot it will rebrake. When it rebroke on us we were in a basement and the bowl came apart and shattered on the floor :X.

I once lit a small drop of super glue on fire to see if it was flammable. It wasn't, but when I breathed in, there must have been some horrible chemicals coming off because it felt like I lit my lungs on fire for a few minutes. When I was going to make a home-made a few months ago, I thought about using epoxy to fasten two parts together. I got that same chemical taste and burn when I tried it out. Then I looked up what happens to the stuff when it burns. I can't remember but I think it said cyanide or some shit. Long story short, just buy a new bowl, man.

hell no man you dont have to heat superglue very much for fumes to disperse you know cops heat superglue so the fumes can stick and freeze to anything there tryna get a fingerprint off of! THE FUMES ARE STILL SUPERGLUE...

Had a friend fix his nice triple chamber bubbler with super glue, but it is really just a temp. fix. One thing the constant application of heat from smoking out of it will soften the glue until it will eventually fall apart again, not to mention heating super glue release a whole bunch of harmful plasticizer and monomers. Also, if you ever needed to clean it and used the alcohol and salt trick, BAM, the glue will be dissolved in a heart beat. You can fix the bowl to look at, but it is not a fix that is able to be used again.

yup. watch out make sure the bowl doesnt get too hot. i had a slide that the handle broke off. i used some sort of cement (not real cement, just adhesive), and it worked fine until i smoked 3 consecutive bowls. the handle just pulled right off. the glue melts. better off just go get a nice worked slide

Wow, I just had the same thing happen to me 5 minutes ago. I found these forums when I googled "what happens if you smoke super glue?"

How trippy that this thread matched my problem.

Anyways, I broke my glass bowl and superglued it. I did a super tits job on it with superglue.

But then it broke again. So I just glued it again tonight but I did a halfassed job. Got some superglue residue in the stem (glass).

Even though the flame from the lighter didn't touch the superglue, it did create hot weed smoke which passed right by the dried superglue. Am wondering if the hot weed smoke caused the dry superglue to release some toxic fumes?
