i started a post a long time ago about the best way to store bud long term to preserve potency, and the consensus seemed to be that storing it in a cold (refrigerator), dark place under a vacuum was the best option. so i did some searching around and ordered this "Pump-n-seal" (http://www.pump-n-seal.com/), which can make a vacuum in mason jars for only 20$. i took my 3 ounces of bud and vacuum sealed it in mason jars, and it worked really well. not sure long term yet how it'll work, but for anyone who wants a cheap way to vacuum seal their bud in jars (and not spend a lot of money getting those bag sealers that could crush the bud), i recommend this. plus you can undo the vacuum at only point, grab a bud, then reseal the vacuum in two seconds (unlike the vacuum bag sealers that are only good once).

anyone else tried one of these?

never tried it but it is clearly a way better alternative to one time use vacum bags. good idea.

We've had one of the electric ones that does bags and mason jars both, since '88.
It was $300 then

(new on the market) and is $150 now. I like your $20 price the best.

It seems like the best way. No heat, no light, no air.
To go long term, keep one jar that you don't need to go into, and one that you do.

Jars are also better than those bags because youre weed won't be all bricked up and compressed by the bag. Way to go, man - great idea.

I bought the pump-n-seal a couple months ago and love it. Keeps my stash vacuum sealed in a freezer, once I open it after letting it warm up it's as fresh as the day I put it in.

Call me crazy but I'd rather not smoke / vape a couple hundred dollars worth of greens in a sitting.

Besides if I vaped even a gram I'd be fucked.

vaping isn't the same as smoking, its a different high.

I think his point was more so that he's got a lot more weed than he cares to smoke at once, and wants to save some of it for later use...

Good idea with the vacuum jars... It's one I've had for a while, but could never find the thing that vacuum seals a jar, lol. I could only find the bag ones...

vaccum seal bags do compress buds alot...this seems like an ok product...the only thing i dont understand is you punch a hole in the lid then add some strip over it...so if that strip wears out then its not gonna hold its seal, id much rather see some type of lid specific for mason jars....either way i got some nice foodsaver jars that do exactly what that thing does and theres no worry of it leaking

I have a vacume sealer wich is sensative to certain products that can be smashed. Plus it has a port that allows you to seal there jars which cost extra to buy. It is a worthy investment in the long run in my opinion.

It comes with 50+ strips so if the strip gets damaged u simply replace it, easy as replacing a bandaid.

And I have yet to see a jar sucked lose it's vacuum.
