** Making Iso Hash **

I picked up 3 types of weed today and I want to make some iso hash using 1 of them (about 3g).

Do you just grind the bud and leave it standing in a covered jar of isopropyl alcohol for half a day or so, then drain the liquid into a dish and let it evaporate and scrape the remains? Ive read you can boil the alcohol but I dont want to start a fire and stink the place out.

Also ive only got 70% iso alcohol. Will this work?

bah, at least get 90% iso from a pharmacy if you wanna use iso.

i'm suspecting you're not 21, but if you are get a bottle of everclear 190 proof. it's 95% ethyl alcohol. ethyl is safe for humans (relatively lol), iso is not.

iso stands for isobutane(2-methylpropane) which is used as a lighter fluid. It's a way different chemical than you are trying to use. It's a much more volatile solvent, it evaporates much more quickly than propanol. Plus it's not derived from sulfuric acid.

If you want to use everclear you can, just let it sit for a few weeks and you'll have a tincture. A few droppers full and you'll be alright.

Please don't use isopropyl or propanol, that is just bad.

..how is it bad? there are guides to doing it everywhere..i've made it a handful of times with isopropyl..aslong as it all evaporates
and 70% wont work, it means theres 30% water thats not going to evaporate from your hash. get 99% if you can, 91%+ is a must

How do you make your iso hash?

there's a huge sticky about it on tokecity in the hash forum

and no you don't let it soak in the iso. you cut up the herb (dont finely grind it), put it in a mason jar, cover with iso, shake for 10 seconds, strain with a coffee filter, let evaporate on a plate, scrape off and smoke

the longer you shake it for the less the quality of it will be. but you'll probably get a bit more out of it

btw, i think it's safe. and 70% works fine but it will take longer to evaporate. 99% is the best
