Volcano Vaporizer:Questions and Comments

About three months ago me and four other friends bought a volcano vaporizer to highten our smoking experiences. It is working out great, especially in these cold winter months when its nice to smoke inside. We have been experimenting with different temperature settings and also adding kief when we vaporize.
If anyone here has any experience with the volcano, and would like to give advice that would be great. Or if anyone has any questions and is looking to purchase one, I would be glad to answer your quetions.

I myself have some question. What do you think the best temp setting is? we usually keep it around 5-6. We have been changing bags and cleeaning the exsisting parts, but when should we start thinking about changing the old parts for new ones? Finally, we have been saving our vaporized bud. We want to bake with it most likely. Do any of you guys have any good recipes or any insight at all about baking with vaporized bud?

Set it to 7. That's 300 degrees, the temp where all the good stuff in bud is vaporized.

vaped bud won't do anything, because you took all the THC out. It'd be like smokin any other normal plant.

I'll give you that, but keep in mind that it doesn't take so much eaten to get you really high. Plus, some folks will smoke carefully and really get the most out of vaporizing. If you have patience and really enjoy the smoke you can hit the same bowl many times. It really depends on how much thc you burn off. I can guarantee that I could get anybody ripped to hell off either of the last 2 stashes of remains I have right now, especially the greener of the two. So you really can't say if leftovers are good for baking or not unless you're the user.

Make some butter and brownies and you'll possibly get too high to function. Depends on the kind of job you do honestly and how much you eat. I like brownies (only the butter ones taste good to me though - not when you actually put the weed in there).

I run my volcano alittle above 6. I'm saving my vaped buds too, but i'm going to wait till I get a half O just to make sure that my baking does something.

It is true that if you properly vape the shit out of your buds then no THC will be left, however not each pack will be vaped that much. If you vape your buds till there just lightly browned, or even still got alittle green then you will definitely still have THC left to work with.

Check recipe section for cannabutter recipe. 1 oz of vap remains simmered in water with 2-3 sticks of butter for 4-5 hours then strained and cooled and u bake banana bread or cookes etc with it.
You are leaving lots of good edibles in your vap reamins so learn to make butter and have some fun parties...... I have been enjoying edibles from vap. and blowing my friends away with a piece of banana bread that leaves them speechless.

stick with thc not SHIT thats comes out after u take out all the thc
the only reason 2 do this would be 2 have a marijuana flavor which prolly still isnt worth it at all
but yeh what are yalls opinions smoking hash or keif outta volcano?

I am afraid you got it wrong. Vaping does not get all the THC out of herb that is why if you make butter you get even more from same herbs....

Going on about 2 years now with ours. 7.5 is the most primo setting IMO. Just right. We clean ours regularly, have only replaced one part, and that was because it got lost. Fucking awesome piece of machinary isn't it?

However, regardless of what is said, vaped weed is cashed weed IMO. Sure they may be trace amounts left, but if you really vape it for a couple bags, it's pretty done.

when's the last time you ate it as opposed to smoking it? Big difference in body high and amount needed to zoink you out.

Just throw the remains on a frying pan and simmer it with oil. Use the oil for brownies or whatever you normally cook with oil that you'll be eating.

you don't need as much as you'd think and unless you're using some of the crappiest stuff around it's not a waste at all and it's not going to hurt you to eat that stuff.

The thread started with the question of baking with leftovers, not resmoking it

Thanks for the help guys. I think we are definitely going to bake with the vaped weed. We have about an ounce of vaped weed, give or take, so i think we will be in good shape. Maybe have a nice 4/20 bake fest.
As for the temperature settings, when we put it too high it gets too smokey and i feel like that is defeating the purpose of the vape IMO.
But overall it is prolly the greatest invention ever and im proud to own one.

As for actually doing the baking, please try this as it worked so good for me and I want to share it:




Get some brownie mix that calls for oil, not butter.

Simmer your weed in the oil until it's all nasty looking and the thc is out.

Pour this through one of those coffee filter screens.




I made a batch using some better crocker (i think) that had big chocolate chunks about 2 months ago. We both got so inebriated that we didn't want to do them until I just ate half of one before I made this post.

It's about 15 mins into it now and I'm getting an intense body high and becoming slightly distorted

This morning I woke up, played tennis, came home, drank a beer, smoked some california orange bud and keif x 2

I'm telling you these brownies are the kind you'd eat even if they didn't have pot. But these do and they will get you fucking hiiiiiiigggghhhh and I know I didn't even put an eighth in the oil that made 6 brownies. I just ate 1/2 one and will be alot more high than I am now in 1 hour.

Hope that inspires you to search for some internet guides to baking. Glad to hear people big on the vape cause it validates me loving the thing so bad, lol

What About The Duff?
Spent herb from a vaporizer isn't ash because it hasn't been burned. Instead, it's a brown, very dry version of its formal self, called duff. Post-vaporization duff can be used for many things, including potpourri and as cooking supplement.
Less efficient vaporizers- including some portable conduction models- aren't capable of extracting all of the resin from the pot. Thus, many users take their duff and make edibles out of it. While these may not feature the punch of edibles created using good bud or top-shelf shake, some users report creating relatively high-quality results from their spent duff.

Yeah, but some people don't bake their grass brown when they vape. I did it that way at first, but now that I'm more experienced I don't. I don't want to fuck up my lungs smoking it til it's brown. So I vape it at a lower temp and still get plenty high.

I have a used stash that's still very green and I'll use it for vaping some more or baking, haven't decided yet.

In my volc i usually pack the minimum. Just covering the screen. lil kif sprinkled in the mix.
I start on 5.5 and get 3-4 tasty bags.
Move it on up to 6.5 and get 4-5 decent tasting bags.
Roll it up to 7.5 and get 3-4 ass bags.
