weed... a gateway drug?

I've thought alot about this . it can be a gateway if you are weak minded. i started smoking weed think about 4 years ago and i did alot of research into it before i started.. and that day i said nothing but weed and some shrooms. and to this day thats all i've ever done..i've been offerd just about everything.. like as in "here dude smoke this"..just the other day it was crack and stuck to just weed. i dont want crack i'd rather not end up a crackhead or a junkie or wigged out from to much acid so i dont do anything else.. it's absolutly harmless what i've chosen as my favorite thing and its what i'll stick to

anyone who does not agree with that statement has no place in this forum, IMHO.

That said, weed has sort of been a gateway drug for me. I got addicted to the nicotine from smoking blunts, so i started smoking straight up cigars and moved on to cigs to save money.

Getting hooked on herion is not your fault, and getting off of it is commendable. It's the people that sell the shit that really concern me.

My answer is yes, marijuana is a gateway drug. I put some thought into this the other day, and although smoking bud does lead to other drugs, its not nessicarily pot's fault. It all depends on the person. I started smoking when i was 10 years old, and since then the only other drugs i have done are mushrooms and opium. I feel that marijuana opens your mind to other things. I also know people who did start smoking pot and it led them to start doing cocaine and such, but its all on the person thats doing it. But on the other hand, I know more people who did coke, x, acid, etc. before they ever even tried marijuana. But i dont know, just my 2 cents.

it all depends on the person. i've been smoking for about 3 years now, and i've still never touched any other drug besides alcohol. alcohol is more of a gateway drug, cause it gives you the "fuck it" feeling. and all those anti-marijuana commercials are always good for a good laugh. there all so dumb. i feel high drivers are better than others, your terrified of everything so you concentrate on everything so much better.

Oxygen is the real gateway drug. I started huffing that stuff long before I tried any other drugs.

i think that sugar, ibuprofen, acetampohen and caffeine are the real gateway drugs since their the first ones people ever do.

I think curiosity is more the gateway drug. Usually gets people in trouble.

Peer-pressure is another. I roomed w/ a major pothead that was also into meth and ecstacy. And guess what, before I moved out I had tried them just b/c of my own stupid curious ass. Meth is the stupidest shit ever, doesn't make you high, just keeps you awake, which is actually useful if you're at an all night rave where you're supposed to be messed up which is the only place I would ever do it again. I've done shrooms, but not a lot and only once. That was also an "I have the opportunity" type event too but havn't gotten the chance to do them since. I'd wait until a good time/place to do them again though.

Sorry to sound like a druggie, but I did do all my reading on erowid before considering any of that stuff and I took the necessary precautions and all that and it never burned me. Not like I do anything aside form weed frequently which I'm cutting back on too.

How can you put people who sniff somthing up their nose on the same level as child molesters? It's their body! Do you think you should have a say in what goes into it?! It's no different than weed! weed is a gateway drug. ever this past summer i started smoking real heavy again quad a day. ever sense i have tried OC, crystal meth, coke , crack, lots of uppers, downers, twiisters and all kinds of pills, i want to try some liquid acid but i can't find it. same with mescaline or peyote, that shit would be just great, 4 days of tripping. weed is 100% a gateway drug.

If weed is a gateway drug, im sure there would be alot more meth floating around than there is now...i'v smoked for about 3 years now and iv never tried anything harder than meth, and i did that once....even if maryjane was legal(but not sold in stores) i doubt anything would really change, i still wouldnt trust the cops..

Neither did I until I lived in the same building as a smackhead,all his smackhead friends would leave their dirty fucking needles all over the place.
That plus the fact that an addict doesn't give a fuck how he gets his next fix, and it's a fucking expensive monkey to feed.
All those who have the strength to kick it and stay clean are to be respected because when they get a grip they often realise for the first time how low they had sunk,it's a tough fight.
H , coke and crack will all fuck you up big time if you let your guard down.
