Rice instead of water?

Someone on another forum I post on said something about using rice instead of water in a bong. I don't see why it would be good at all. I think it would just taste like rice, and you'd inhale rice dust. At least the water cools and fiters. I'd be willing to say that it does both much better than rice. Opinions? Confirmations?

Actually,I've heard that if you have an ashcatcher in your bong that it works well if you put rice in the ashcatcher and water in the chamber,because it still acts as a filter while making sure that there is no spillover from the ashcatcher into the tube itself.I've never tried it,but I'd be down to try it someday,once I get a tube with an ashcatcher.

Well... the more I think about it, the more I want to do it. The dry rice would create a maze of thousands of holes all acting as tiny filters to catch tars and what not. I think it'd work really well theoretically. Cooked rice would absorb alot of smoke and shit and then if you ate it... you'd get really high. So either way is a cool idea to try out.

ok well i did try it a long time ago with one of my homemade bongs, i put the rice in to the line i would keep my water and i started toking, it was a little harder to toke and it made a windy sound but it just turned brown a little bit on the bottom, it was cool though, i got the same high as usual

nah dude, if you mix the water and the rice, then smoke enough bowls, you could generate enough heat to make rice in your bong...ive tried it
