funny story when the cops searched my boy, they didnt find any weed on him, but found his new piece that he just christened. this piece wasnt cheap either, and my friend paid a bigger price when the cop rolls up. luckily he was a real chill cop, but he took my friends new acquisition and drove off. later that month my friends gets his piece back as well as a freezer bag full of naked stems sent to him in the mail, no return address or anything. with obvious signs of wear and tear and the piece being used, we concluded the cop was as big a pot head as we are.

I don't even see how you can think you are being logical. If that were true, that would mean that cops could search ANYONE at ANY TIME. You said people should know their rights. One of your rights is a "Right to Privacy".

You are saying that the cops have an UNLIMITED right to search you. All they have to do is ask. If you say yes, then they can search you. If you say no, then they can search you.

If your school taught you that crap, I am sorry. You should really think about moving somewhere with a better education system.

You saying no to a search is not probable cause. It is not even reasonable suspicion. They need probable cause to think that you committed a crime and are hiding evidence of that crime. Just because you don't want a stranger sifting through your junk does NOT indicate that you committed a crime.

Google the Fourth Amendment and read it. Its goal is pretty clear: if you don't want to be searched and the cops can't show that you probably committed a specific crime, you don't have to be searched.

My friend got busted for possesion, they searched his car illegally. He got off completely because they had no right to search his car. SO to make it more simple, he wasn't convicted.

If I get pulled over by the police, I am as nice as I can, and honest. I'll tell them I have weed on me. I've never got a ticket for bud, they always say, you shouldn't be smoking pot, it's bad for you. I just say yeah yeah and leave.

Well now, I dont think everyone is being fair saying "You shouldnt ahve let him search you."

If he had been ridin dirty, I do hope he would have had the insight to have declined the search; I hope everyone on these boards knows their rights. But since he had nothing on him, and knew that the search would not have been incriminating, it made the whole thing go a lot smoother.

I mean, the cop had taken their names; and does anyone honestly think that declining a search is going to go unrecorded? Theres a 99% chance that if he declined a search, the cop would have made some mark on SOME paperwork that could turn up later. Perhaps another cop, a judge, or God-knows-who could say to him "Is it true that on *date* you declined to be searched by the police? Why?" Blah blah blah. Which is not in itself incriminating, but what would a jury think if that little tidbit of information was brought up sometime in the future? I've never had this happen to me, so I'm not sure- but hey, better safe than sorry.

I guess what Im trying to say is that if you dont have reason to decline a search, just keep it on the down-low and let the cops have their little fun. Declining a search has a certain aesthetic value in itself, but so does allowing a cop to search you, then having them come up empty.

+rep for all of you on why helped me shut this dumbass up... I agree about the education system, or lack there of in his area. I mean i didn't want to get in an arguement on the internet with someone because i feel like all they want is attention and it makes me feel bad for giving in to them.

So the moral of the story because i love MoralOral hilarious show... stores can sell bongs because its legal, you can have a clean bong on you and its legal, the cops can not just search you because you have a clean pipe on you, and finally once again not everything you read on the internet or hear on tv is the truth!

I'm just telling you guys what has worked for me and what i've learned in college and from the LAW!!!!. I've never had any trouble with police when you talk to them like i explained. You guys are blowing what i said way out of poportion. There is nothing wrong with telling a cop NO, except you'll piss him off and he'll give you a hard time.

As for my schooling i live in the 3rd richest county in the country i highly regard my learning and right now is the most important in my life.

I also like the patting of the back of people that think they "beat me" cant we have a discussion on this boards without getting teamed up on and if you cant take a little insult you need to get over it buddy.
