Re: Water found on the moon!!!

The U.S. Government will have a lot of explaining to do when they detonate this big ass bomb on the moon and the gravitational response causes floods all over the Earth.

Re: Water found on the moon!!!

Hello ALL !!!

I'm new here, actually just found this forum and came in because someone had posted the Moon, water news ... But after reading the post I'm surprised at the responses because I thought anyone that would come to this forum would be commenting in a more laid back, stoner imagination, more of a "far Out Man", manner.
This news is nothing more or nothing less than FAR OUT MAN ! ....
I certainly do not intend or mean to belittle anyone ... I'm just saying ... this is some way cool shit, on so many levels ... but to the coolness in a second, but first .. The deal about blowing up part of the moon .. not happing ... just .... No ... the plan WAS to drop a piece O crap part from a Satellite probably .. PART ... regardless of size of part available to drop, direct, guide ... IMPACT ... The outcome would be nothing more than what happens occasionally on the moon, but this time we would be ready to test the contents of the dust that would arise ... What's new is that we have really never considered this before, I mean we DID have a man there with a shovel ... But ALAS, no need to impact, have detected water (sort of) without having to impact, dust study.
Now to the "Coolness" The reason that so many people including me, are doing the Happy Dance is because the "Unwater" contains ... basically free fuel ... It's the possibilities that are the "Far Out" part ...

ok, that's MY Story and I'm stickin to it ! ...
and yes I'm looking for good conversation ... so lay it down ... if you understand the implications ...

If You be Tokeless, are you implying that you don't smoke? Your post doesn't really say if you do or not, so I was just trying to clarify.
So you're a non-stoner on a stoner forum?
Quick! Someone get her a joint!

Just a guy that cried when my Mom wouldn't let me go see the NEW Sabbath concert @ age 10 ... yes 10 in '71 ... been rolling since I was 8 ...

"Sweet Leaf" is a song by Black Sabbath from their 1971 album Master of Reality. The song, a hymn to recreational marijuana use, got its title from a packet of cigarettes bassist Geezer Butler bought in Dublin that claimed the tobacco was "the sweet leaf." The song begins with a tape loop of guitarist Tony Iommi coughing.[1]

Re: Water found on the moon!!!

lol I must admit, i stopped reading reply's after half of page 2. But in any case this thread is a perfect example of the wide range of views on science in general.

At any rate, making a village on the moon will be a huge leap in everything we know. If you want people to live within thier means (economically or at least environmentally) you should want us to go to the moon. If for nothing else other than you CAN'T live there without living that way.

Think about it, you have to cover and manipulate every inch of dirt you use to be able to support the people in the city on the moon, it's a bio-dome in space!! Along with that ANYTHING you ship there is going to have a huge cost attached to it just to get it there. The one downside is that it will start to promote mining in space which, if we aren't carefully can end badly but it can be managed.

I for one am looking forward to the time when a trip to space is like getting a ticket to some major city that's only a few hundred miles away. Then i get even more excited when I see people like Burt Rutan (Burt Rutan sees the future of space | Video on TED.com) and the guy that owns the virgin line (Richard Branson). They are a few of the people that are pushing us forward and into space.

Re: Water found on the moon!!!

There was a program on some channel the other day all about the moon. The moon is very important to us humans because it could contain trillions of dollars of elements from meteors hitting it. It also does contain the necessary ingredients for producing water and oxygen, as well as all the other basic elements that we would need.

By the year 2060, there will be hotels on the moon. That's what the program said. They're already developing new space suits, rovers, and permanent housing for living on the moon. When we do get to the moon, we'll actually have more power on Earth because we'll be able to properly utilize solar energy and beam the energy to Earth.

Also, the moon would give us a good place to test out new rovers and technology for exploring other planets, such as Mars.

Re: Water found on the moon!!!

An american research scientist was once asked "will this work improve the defensive capabilities of America?" and he replied "No, but it keeps it worth defending".

I'm sure once earth is not capable of supporting human life because we have fucked it up so bad, humans will be wishing we expanded to other planets to not rely our existence on one fragile planet.

You are the reason it will take as long as it does to live on the moon, if it does happen before we end the human race. How do you know we are earth creatures? We could be from some completely different, unheard of, galaxy. How do you know people aren't being sent to the moon already to secure the existence of the human race? How do you know we have even been to the moon?

Be skeptical, but don't straight up say no. There is a difference.
