maybe it is just that time of year

I can see how the cold temperatures up in the troposphere can cause ice crystals to form from the exhausts condensation. But why do they stay up there for so long instead of just dissipating? Surely ice would be affected by gravity, so it would fall, melt, and then precipitate/evaporate into nothing on the way down.

But whatever it is, it just persists up there, creating strange cloud formations often leading to a milky white haze and usually overcast. ...ALL these fucking clouds are from 'contrails'. I don't understand? am I dense

its been that time of year since 1998. AND worldwide. also theyre NOT from contrails. like you said they would dissipate. well these can stay up to an hour or more in one trail. and are definately being dropped lower than 35000 ft in the air. some places it drops down and leaves a powder on top of cars. i dont think your dense. you wont wake up overnight. maybe in the day though since these air most visible during the day.

ROFL at this thread.

CONtrails are caused by the exhaust from the engine.. They're clouds of condensed water vapor.. Combustion reactions always yield CO2 + H2O. This is Chemistry 101 stuff guys.
