Video File How old is the Earth?

i bet all the creationists will eat this one up
and NO i am not a creationist for any of you newer users who dont know me as well (*cough*SamSpade*cough*).

im not entirely sure on the validity of this guys experimentations and results, or if it has been successfully challenged and proven wrong. i find it more interesting that ive never even heard about this!

obviously the automatic reaction from most of you will be the earth is billions of years old, dinos lived millions of years ago, and we are the product of evolution and so and so forth.
but i would really like to know what the hell has happened to these experiments, and if they were simply ignored because the idea of a young earth seems retarded to the scientific community.

unfortunately, this experiment was probably carried out by a creationist(lol, he sure looks like one), and is presented in a manner beneficial to the creationist ideas (note the biblical quotes and anti sin message at the end of each clip) and honestly....theyve ruined it for themeselves amongst society...or at least the sientific community.

now my own beliefs correlate with Judeo/Biblical beliefs to a certain extent, and i would like to look at this in a different light than the average radical christians beliefs. yes, that means annunaki and a few quantum ideas.

anyway, enjoy, or dont, its up to you really, and im hoping for an update (from someone more knowledgable about the things discussed than myself) on where this guys articles and experiments stand with the scientific community. (probably arent even standing, lol)

and this one is highly interesting regardless of the first round.

The Earth is currently believed to be 4.6 X 10 E9 years old. The sun and moon are about the same.

The earth is 4.55bn years, +/- 1%

The solar system is older than that, but not by much. Essentially the earth is the same age as the solar system. Thing is, at the start of the planets life, they all underwent a rather intense period of impacts from lesser object. the earth received a whopper of a slam, with an object roughly the size of Mars.

This collision essentially shattered the earth and completely annihilated the other object. However due to the force of the impact, large quanteties of mass was ejected into orbit, which eventually formed our moon.

Greetings again pavlakos,

I'm glad you're not a creationist. I watched the first video, and it seems to be lacking a very basic knowledge of biology and geology... and then provide no evidence for it's claims

How we know the age of the Earth: http://www.spaceref.com/news/viewpr.html?pid=15080

This man is clearly propagandizing, has no evidence for his claims and is about as full of hokum as anyone I've ever heard.

I have been to the Colorado Plateau, many times, and if you ever went there and came away with the impression that Earth is not incredibly old, and has not gone through many violent changes over billions of years, then you were tripping a lot harder than I was.

Petrified wood, dinosaur tracks, megalodon teeth, canyons of stone layers over a mile deep?

Yeah, that didn't take long!

Not really.

We know the Earth is not older than a certain margin, just as we know it's not younger than a certain margin. Thus is the nature of geological understanding.

They use the decay rates of solar meteorites to determine the latest-possible stages of planetary formation. Nifty stuff that science.

Enjoy, friend!
