Earth and Souls

I have a few more... so just bare with me sorry for making a whole new thread.

Supposing there is no play by an Ultimate creator like a God.

Do you believe that humans evolved from apes? How do you think the first things came into exsistance. Beyond even our earth, but all of the galaxy.

If DNA doesn't make up your personality, then do you believe in souls? What is a soul? In the relativity to Aristotle or your own ideas. Please go on as much as possible for everything.

I do believe in evolution theory. I think we evolved from some sort of great ape in the past. I dont think we evolved directly from the apes on the Earth today - if that were the case why didnt they evolve with us?

To me, the belief in religion is a way for people to explain things they otherwise cannot. Our self-awareness is unique in the animal kingdom (at least we think it is). Because we are self-aware, we have to explain things. Life, death, reality, consciousness, are all things that we all ask the big question "Why are we here?". No one can explain this, thus religion is born.

I believe religion is not a bad thing. It has helped Humanity as a whole very much. If not for religion, anarchy, theft, rape, etc. would all be prevalent in our world. Religion was/is a way for our rulers to control all the "sheep".

As far a having a "soul", I don't really think of that as a possibility. Again, it is our feeling of superiority that develops these feelings of divine creation. We are so smart - it isnt possible for us to die. We MUST go somewhere else when we expire.

i believe the collective consiousness of the universe is god, and thus the only creator is us. we created all this.

we have not evolved from apes as they are our contemporaries so that makes it impossible but, i do believe we share a not too distant common ancestor which maybe be Lucy.

as for personalities and souls i believe we are essentially energy so we each have distinct energy which may manifest itself inform of what we term as "personality" or soul.
