Actually I think technology is playing a big part in the reason why life is so unsustainable and polluted. Technology comes at a price, which includes mass pollution, laziness (not to mention the weakening mind when everything can be done at the click of a button), and more. The agricultural movement is another part, which in most cases produces way more food then needed, causing population explosions in certain parts of the world. I do assume though that one day the problem will probably fix itself, not to say that it will happen in a manner that we will all agree with. That's life for you. Although, people need to stop being so transfixed on the end of the world. With that kind of mindset, it's just "plunder all we can while we're still alive." Yet life continues, and generations therefore after are left with the mess, usually taking on the same mindset of those before them. It's so easy to just continue this lifestyle, but so "impossible" to break out of the cycle. With the growing laziness and apathy of the world, if nothing happens soon then maybe, just maybe it might be too late. But I believe there is always hope, as long as humans can be considered an intelligent lifeform anyways.

anything we do to the earth, she will recover..it could take billions of years, but she would.. and be able to sustain life again... in one way or another...
I doubt we could overpopulate the earth to the point of her destruction.... our OWN destruction, yeppers...u betcha'. just my opinion. For our own sake and safty we need to do what we can to keep our enviornment up to par for the living conditions we need.

i think that nature is fully capable of handling human overpopulation. Like you said, "balance is important" and nature always has a way of balancing things out. Survival of the fittest until the population dies down. I think as long as we have the plants we'll manage.

You need to be a phramacist to dispense drugs, you need a license to drive a car and cut hair. You need to get good grades to get into a good college a good college is needed to get a good job. Background checks are needed to be a cop, you have to be elected to government jobs. ANYONE CAN HAVE A BABY Some people should not be allowed to have children, and there should def be a limit. I'm sick of these families in poverty having a ton of kids. First off if they had less kids they could save more and get out of poverty, but instead they have a ton of unprotected sex and spawn more poverty stricken kids who thanks to their parents having 20 children will not be able to get out of poverty and the cycle will continues. |

and being from a first world country would allow you of all people to be more effective, and help change such problems. these are poor poor areas you are talking about. people who are birthed into poverty. from a young age these kids are working for the lowest of wages so you can sit on your ass and eat all those munchies. work is the keyword of these poverty stricken areas. 60% of of the food produced in 3rd world country's are exported. the fact of the matter on these large families is these women are born working these extremely low wages just so they can have a meal weekly, sometimes. they dont go to school, they arent taught their language from books, and computers. these women are illiterate. they dont have a shelf of pamphlets telling them the dangers of meth, and coke, or let alone of safe sex, and how to avoid pregnancy. they have no access to protection. and maybe if your government, and family, and society wasnt so focused on our riches, and technology something would be done about it. overpopulation wont cease to exist, and with that much more of us sitting on these computers, needing all this excess food for our daily meals, and such... this poverty will only get worse, the gap will only widen, and ignorant comments like yours will only increase.

Religion promotes the false ideal that we as human beings are of a greater class than our animal brothers, and sisters. i am against that. For example mammaliformes ("almost mammals") and then mammals existed throughout the reign of the dinosaurs, but could not compete for the large terrestrial vertebrate niches which dinosaurs monopolized. The end-Cretaceous mass extinction removed the non-avian dinosaurs and made it possible for mammals to expand into the large terrestrial vertebrate niches. |

how about the govt wanting the population down to 500mill? how about global catastrophes/natural disasters; something like what hit the dinos is almost inevitable, and quite probable. heres another, humans killing eachother off like their doing right now, a possible world war 3? with the technology we have that would be quite deadly to the world. but then again that would fall into population control...

We do contribute to the planets cycle of life, we plant trees..but yeah thats about it. As you said, the earth has balanced itself out before.. but never from this much of a back step. So many more populations have become extinct, and they're still becoming extinct every day... theres so much pollution in the air, and so on... so I doubt it can recover from this. |
