I just learned that what we see is just a our perception of an external world. If you were looking at a dog, first your eyes would refract the image of the dog, then electric rays are sent to your brain which conforms to electric signals. Our brain observes these electric signals and the image we see is what our brain observes. So our perception of the dog could not be reality just what humans percept in an external world. This is a proven fact by present science. I thought this was really interesting because what we see could not actually be reality just what our brain observes based on the electrical signals it is given which shows that we are not actually seeing in reality the dog, but what our brain precepts it to be. Same with the universe. So also, if you stopped the electric ray of the dog going to your brain, then you would not see the dog because our brain has nothing to observe. If the dog barked, and we stopped the electric ray going to our brain, then we would not here the dog bark.

So conclusion is what we see and here can just be an illusion to reality because none of us can actually see reality, just what our brain percepts what reality actually is.

Observations are just visual stimuli. Is the dog not reality when you touch him? What makes something real to you?

Do you know that the colors we see are just the colors that the object didn't absorb? I.e plants are primarily green because they refract green light because they do not use it.

The common view of reality is sensorial stimuli resulting in electrical impulses that are then interpreted by the brain.

But how can one prove that what the brain interprets is a result of senses? Perhaps there are no eyes, ears, tongue, etc. Perhaps all that exists is your mind and a mischievous demon that tricks you into believing you should rely on senses.

Even if this is not true, and we really do see and hear and taste, what are we really sensing? Nothing more than a collection of elementary particles and force fields. At least as far as science has shown us thus far.

This sounds a lot like the matrix. "What is reality? What you can see, smell and touch? Then to you, reality is actually electrical signals interpreted by your brain" or something to that extent.

Yes, I've always thought about things like this, like this isn't actually how the world REALLY looks, it's just how we perceive it. That may be the case with color, but things you can touch, that is most certainly real. So I know that dogs have at least the basic shape of a dog, because my hand conforms to it when I pet the dog. Believe me, touch doesn't lie.

Most things around us is just empty space.

A hydrogen atom is only about a ten millionth of a millimeter in diameter, but the proton in the middle is a hundred thousand times smaller, and the electron whizzing around the outside is a thousand times smaller than THAT. The rest of the atom is empty.

So we just make it out to be that a solid is a solid, when it is mostly empty space - however our hand cannot go through it.

Partly, but not quite. We see the plant as green because it reflects green light that it does not use, making the plant not actually green, making it whatever color(s) it absorbs(not sure which but y'all know what I mean). The concept kind of creates a sense of i guess you could call selfishness of matter. We perceive what they do not use, we couldn't perceive what they do use, because they're already using it, we must wait (or act) until something else is given off.

what is real? i can say this computer is real, but someone will say its nothing but floating atoms, we shouldn't even be able to touch it. i think it depends on what each of us define as real, i know this computer shouldnt be real on one level, but on another it is real and i can enjoy it.

the dimensional planes of the souls? maybe thats real? i think so.

its not a prison its a playground. perception, since everything is ones perception anyways. so many levels of perception.
