internet download theory

so im baked and i start thinking about the internet. i thought about this idea that a soon point in time there will be someone or someplace that will download the entire contents of the internet (everything on the internet in one given minute as a measurment). and when storage becomes so great in the future, storage capacity will be described by the size of the internet in a given minute; kind of like MBps or kbps right now, but it will just get so absurd so like the measurements would be IMpm (internet measure per minute) or some thing. well im baked so it prbly wont make much sense, but think about all that

In wired magazine or something similar, i recal reading about a modem and/or server (i forget) that was capable of downloading every single netflix movie (approximately 900,000) in thirty seconds and the entire internet, yes, the internet, in approximately two minutes.

Im not exactly sure where i heard this but what i said was what i could remember.

It's like the internet 2.0 - I believe they refer to it now as "The Grid" it is the massive network they set up to analyze the data from the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN (the same lab that created the original Internet).

Heres the article from Wired - http://www.wired.com/science/discove.../2001/03/42230

you guys do know how much of the internet google has on its servers? It caches everything you search, as well as containting upwards of probably 20% of the internets mail.

Not to mention they contain millions of scanned books, health records, billing information, all satellite photos of earth, cam photos of earth, Also they automatically crawl all of the news

Google is probably 20-30% of the internet.

Internet measure per minute! Do you know how much data is on the Internet? I know what you're saying, that in the future, storage amounts would be huge, but the entire Internet? That's unfathomable!
