The Human Buttcheeks, Feces, etc.

I've been debating an almost laughably silly topic for this week, but I'm wondering if anyone has any answers for me... The human body is an incredible, strong machine, and everything that our body does usually takes care of itself in a natural way. But I've been curious about this for a while. With everything that our adaptation has taken care of, why is it still necessary to wipe our butt after we go to the bathroom? I suppose it's not necessary, but if you weren't to in a natural setting, you'd end up with a lot of the bacteria from the feces on your body, which wiping with paper takes care of... I guess this is kind of an open discussion about why this is, if it would be necessary to wipe, or if we would become immune to the bacteria, or something... I don't know.

yea im pretty sure we'd quickly build up a tolerance for anything disagreeable in the bacteria coming out of our turdcutters.

who knows though? maybe hepatitis is a part of natural selection.

also, if youre squatting in the woods, the stance is such that not much wiping is necessary.

but, since we have skin and not fur, wiping is necessary to be able to walk comfortably and avoid chafing.

except for hirsute people like me, who are furry anyway.

we only wipe because of the way toilets make us sit, if you spread your cheeks so there isnt anything to deter the flow of exit matter there is really a minimal amount of upkeep.

I know that in Iraq they literally use their own hands to as toilet paper. That is why its a big act of disrespect to shake someone's hand there. I think we do it because of the smell that would stick to you after using the restroom.

Maybe the squatting advantage is why some toilets in Europe are just holes in the ground.

Someone REALLY needs to popularize squatters in America. They're faster to use, cheaper to build and much cleaner. And most of all, you don't have to sit your ass on a filthy piss-covered seat. They are so so so much better.
