Mass Slaughter Of Grey Wolves At The Hands of Bush

President bush is currently gonna sign a bill into law allowing the mass slaughter of all grey wolves in the greater yellowstone, and northern rockies area. He will allow aerial killing by helicopter, baiting and trapping, and mass hunts.

I am an avid peace activist, and animal lover. I believe all animals deserve to be alive. And, grey wolves are so beautiful have you ever seen one close up? If not a trip to the rockies before they are killed off would be an absolute awesome adventure to see all kinds of wildlife, and possibly one of these magestic creatures.

Please please please help, hand out flyers at your school, send in emails and letters to your house reps, hand out flyers around town, tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your family.

Help me stop this slaughter before it takes place.

Wow, killing by helicopter. I know nothing about this situation but find it very interesting. There has to be another side to the story. Why are they be killed? Are they harming other animals, or attacking people?

By the way did you ever stop to think that wolves are a serious problem at yellowstone? I don't nesecerally condone killing them, but they are a big problem there

They reason they want this, is because they say that the wolves are causeing the elk population in that area to decline, but its basically natural selection, The wolves food is naturally the elk, and other game in that area, the hunters a blaming them for a decrease in elk, but wolves only account for 1-4% of the elk that die.

Trust me, I have tried many times I send letters in to the house of reps, I have been in a peace march, and I have sent many care packages over seas. I do not like violence one bit, and the killing of each other is a sad sad thing. Many many issues can be resolved without violence.

the obvious solution to the wolves "killing off the elk population" is to transport some to other places, like wolf breeding facilities...they are still an endangered species last i checked...and if all are killed off that will just turn the ecology that the species is involved in upside down...all the prey animals will over produce causing a chain reaction..leaking into other chains..not good

The elks are not. They are the wolves natural prey besides deer. We should quit trying to play the part of the 'protector' of the animal kingdom, and let nature run its course. I believe that we should protect endangered species to the extent of giving them a chance, and cease human hunting of the species, but if nature wills it, the species will die eventually.

Bush had to pick between two things I guess: make Yellowstone area more safe to TOURISTS or not destroying the wolves and most likely closing down the area to tourists... I mean it's natural for the wolves to eat the elk or whatever.
of course we are human so you know, we can do whatever we want! We own this place!

This is insane all the time and money the exercised over the last decade to revive that same wolf population just so they can kill them all off again. The reason all the hunters are complaining about the elk is because they have gone higher up in the mountains and now they actualy have to hunt them. the fact is there are more elk now than ten years ago when they reintroduced the grey wolf to the area. Its all just political bullshit and the grey wolf will suffer for this time. And if its such a problem in yellowstone relocate some wolves or get some of the people out of there natural habitat.

Didn't the state inport the wolves from Canada? I though that all gray wolves in Yellostone were wiped out in the last century.

Don't really have time to read the rest of the posts or that website, so sorry if I'm repeating someone.
But I hate this. If you look back in the history of time, several creatures started dying off with the introduction of mass amount of humans. Why is it that humans have to have such a big head that they try and take the course of mother nature in their own hand? It's as if they're playing god. Allow nature to fall about as it does. Animals overpopulate? They naturally die off because of that. Humans shouldn't have to push that process along.
It's rediculous. Why can't we live in peace with our world? If different colored people can learn to live and coincide in peace, then why can't we and animals? We're all living, breathing creatures and without them (and us), planet earth would not be as it is today.

It's sad.

Humans fuck something up, we wipe out another species to fix it.
Something else gets fucked up, we still blame another species.
Anyone else notice how the reason for 99% of ecology problems is.....you guessed it, HUMANS.

I cant even put into words how fucked up this is, killing wolves to save the elk, so we can shoot them instead. *rme*

Thank god we've only gotta deal with another 10 months of that idiot.
