I can't believe it needs to be said already. This is NOT a forum for discussion of religion and spirituality. We don't need two forums for it, ok? Sheesh.
Unless it's about how great this new forum is going to be, please put all further comments about god/creation in S&P where it belongs. Thanks.

A part of the forum just for science and nature. Actually, quite fantastic, love it. I know I'll be a frequent spammer on this new nook of the city
![]() That do not mean however I won't have my fun in the S&P part either. Regardless of popular thought, neither spirituality nor philosophy is dependant upon deity, or goodness forbid, believing in crazy shit for no good reason. Yes, reason. That favourite word of mine. That is, after drunk, high and sex. It embodies what I seek as spiritual understanding and a valid philosophy. Yes, I know. No need to point it out. Reading AKs sticky, one is left with the impression that from now on, religious or newagist ideas, that is beleiving in what cannot be proven, is somehow not to be debated or criticised. That the default position is to respect such ideas based not upon their merit, but what is "polite" or politically correct. so as to not offend anyone I guess. I'm all for politeness. Debate should be based upon respect of people, and a general sense of kindness and seeking understanding of eachother as opposed to outright hostility. But one do not need to respect ideas, much less be polite about it. I'm not very respectfull of ideas of fascism or communism. I don't see why I should be respectfull of ideas of invisible dictators in the sky, magic crystals finding water near a swimmingpool, or destilled water curing anything but thirst (aka homeopathy). and I'm sure, certain even, that just every now and again, various scientific claims will crop up in the S&P forum. Wildly off base ones. And pointing that out is not offensive. It is honest. Infact, I'll hazard to guess that any and all knowledge of the world, how science explain it, is offensive to some religious notion or other as it is. It is not for fun that creationists are all over themselves fighting facts in various schooldistricts, is it now? They are "offended". Tihi. As are muslims that are told to respect human rights. Offended that they cannot practice their medevil ideology in peace whilst imposing it on us others. Like all religions do. Practice medevil traditions in a modern age whilst pushing it on all that happens to be close by. So still fun to be had. And we got this little corner where I'm guessing self-policing will keep all non-reasoned postings to a minimum. Don't think occams razor is any less sharp in a science forum. Au contraire mes amis ![]()
