Ok, I'll start off by saying that within the past 2 years I've been going through some spiritual changes. Among them, one has been that numbers and number combinations have been showing up at such an alarming rate on a day to day basis that I've changed the way I live and think. While we all have tendencies to act a certain way, these numbers have become a guide to the way I live and while some areas of my life still could use transformation, I definitely think progress is being made. Any questions on what I just briefly described should be asked, as I don't want to go off on any sort of tangent just yet. What I'll say however is that this past year has been one of my most sober minded, not that I was ever an abuser of any kind of hard drug; I only dabbled with your basic hallucinogens like mushrooms. I was a dedicated pot head for years, as most people are and I back weed 100%. It should be noted that I quit cigarettes quite easily about 6 months ago and have been very mindful of fitness for the past 3 years. All in all, I'm a rather healthy guy. I have a few drinks a week and my pot smoking is down to about 2 times a week, which is extremely low for what it once was. (multiple sessions everyday) My lower usage of it now didn't come from some promise I was making to myself, my desire to smoke had just gone down greatly and sometimes, I'd begin to feel anxious, so perhaps some of it has been avoidance. That being said, here's what has been happening recently...

I just got back from a weekend long camping trip yesterday. I was unloading the gear midday when a baby crow (half the size of the bigger ones we usually see) swoops in over my brothers head and lands on my car. It's mouth was wide open. It didn't appear injured in anyway. Naturally, I backed away, rather startled and the crow began hopping toward me and into the garage so I picked up a broom to stave it off if necessary. I'm very caring for animals by the way so I intended to do no harm. That being said, it backed away and was just observing us from a few feet away on the driveway. I know crows are very smart birds and then suggested that perhaps he's hungry or thirsty. I filled a bowl of water and quickly got some bread crumbs. I was able to coax him to both and he seemed to enjoy both. He drank and bathed in the water. This morning, my brother left for work at about 6:30 and said the crow flew from across the street and landed on my car. My brother laid out some bread, the crow ate it as he watched my brother leave. At around 9 am, I had come out of the garage to leave and sure enough, the crow comes from across the street and lands right next to me. He was not at all afraid of me and to be honest, I no longer was either. I put more water in the bowl on the side of the house and he followed behind me as I lead him to it. When I return about an hour later the crow once again fly's over from across the street and lands next to me. At this point, I realize he has some sort of liking to my brother and I for whatever reason so I wanted to provide him with some better food. I chopped up some chicken and grabbed some mealworms I feed my lizard with. It seems now that every time I or my brother step outside, he flys over and gets very close to me without being afraid. Matter of fact, as I was kneeling over to place the food down, he was only about a foot away from my hand with his mouth wide open. I put the food down and he began to eat. I have yet to go outside since then but imagine he'll fly right back over. Anyone have similar experiences or input on the subject? I've heard that when a crow doesn't like someone it will squawk at that person, which he was not doing. He did however make some noises today but they were short and sounded non threatening. This occurred when I was actually saying positive things to him; his noises almost seemed positive as well, crazy as that sounds.

He probably just likes to be fed and given water haha.

I lay my hand on you,

on the swell of your belly,

and let it float

on the rise and fall

of the river in you..

Well, I used to have a thing with animals when I was younger. Like I could befriend cats and dogs quite easily.

But you better watch it. Those crows won't hesitate to kill you.

doublevision, I thought the same thing too and it of course may very well be the case but being the person I am, I like to to view it from a spiritual perspective. that being said, I based my decision that he is most likely a good sign off of the fact that he made no sort of sound that portrayed dislike of me. he always flies in very close to my brother and I, yet always just avoids us. he's literally been acting like a pet. I can step over him and he doesn't budge

grimey sole- my thoughts exactly man.

xpixiex- kidding...right? he does give me the chills sometimes...I was washing my car today and got goosebumps hardcore as he landed next to me

about a couple months ago, i was hanging out in my room when a fly started buzzing around. all of a sudden it landed on my finger. but the way it happened was so it odd. it was like magnetized to me lol. i would shake it around and it seriously looked like it was super glued to my finger.

couple weeks later same thing happens but with a bee.

dude since your into spirituality, have you ever come across the idea that reality is a dream?

if that pretense were true, and reality worked under a subjective perspective, than that crow would have some symbolic meaning.. try to figure it out??

i personally have had a couple trippy experiences.

i had a fun time with some unmentionable fun-guy
and as our adventure started we saw a baby possum, to which my friend freaked out because he has an irrational fear of them. but this made me unconsciously freak out. a third friend just walked up to possum without hesitating basically alleviating me of the fear. making me realize that possum isnt going to do anything
haha i looked that up what viewing a possum in a dream would potentially signify. seeing a posssum is identified as 'something not being as it appears to be'
that resonated with me in a weird way and looking back that means so much more than it did initially.

another time i was trying to point out a star to a friend while driving. as i pointed out a freakin owl flapped by right in front of the car. it was such a synchronous moment.

i would meditate on it, try to see if it has some significant meaning
or
just take it as a pretty cool experience

Animals can sense your intention. They intuitively know whether you're a threat or not. I have come across many that seemed unconcerned with my presence. I wasn't feeding them or looking to interact with them in any way, and apart from being very still at the time, both mentally and physically, had no interest in them at all. But I could feel their simple, thought-free, intuitive, extension of, or perhaps representation of, the Universe, as a part of the whole. It felt like I was in a state of harmony with all things, as well as accepting of all things, and that was being reflected by these animals feeling free to be near me.

I have observed animals behaving with intelligence, care, feeling, empathy, loyalty, and love. They are no different to us. Nothing is fundamentally different to anything. The more you open yourself to this, the more you see such things reflected in the world around you.

all very good input ladies and gentlemen, thanks. And well it's been 5 days and the bugger won't stop coming by, but I will say I enjoy his company. I've been digging up some worms and he's been letting me drop them into his mouth, it's so funny. and some of you guys may be right, it may have nothing to do with spirituality...but don't forget what section of grasscity we're in here...I personally, looking at what things have been happening feel that it's some sort of sign, a sign of what I'm not sure. Maybe the crow senses and now knows that I'll feed him frequently, cool no big deal. Or perhaps it's more, that's cool too and what I like to believe. Will I lose sleep over it? No. But another strange occurrence happened this morning. When my brother was leaving the house for work, right around 6:40 am he said a raven was standing in the road. Big deal? Maybe not...but we've never seen a raven...it's a bird that looks almost just like a crow but is about 2 feet tall. Hmmm...

and grimey sole, I have played with that idea. I honestly don't quite know where the idea stands with me but I do think dreaming has great significance as does deja vu, which happens to me A LOT. What I will however say is that as of the last year or so, I've been having a hard time deciphering/remembering if certain things had actually happened or if they were dreams. In terms of your bee and owl incident, hey man, certain things are unable to be explained. Sure, 95% of people like to think that everything is always a coincidence but I imagine that you and I feel differently. We all operate on a certain frequency and give off energy. Like essef said, I think living things are able to pick up on this energy, frequency or whatever you'd like to call it. I simply have always tried putting meaning into a lot of things that happen in my life, even when not much has gone down. This whole crow thing, and now the raven incident seem pretty meaningful. I will do some reflection on it and will keep you guys posted as to whats been going on .

oh and louis xiv, you might be right but any other crow I've gotten 20ft from just flys away...ok so at the very least, this little guy is special.
