Tulip Joint Question

I have been reading up on the tulip joint and have something to ask.

What do you guys prefer to use as the "stem" of the tulip? I have read in some places that they use another joint, and in some they just use a rolled up piece of cardboard. Do both ways work fine? Would the burn go right onto the stem after the tulip is smoked, or would you have to light it again? If you use just a rolled up piece of cardboard, wouldnt pieces of weed come through the cardboard and into your mouth as you drag on it?

If you want to inhale plastic fumes..

If you have the bud, use another joint. If not, just use a carboard roach.

With another joint, if done right it should just burn right into it.

With the cardboard roach, if rolled properly, you shouldnt get any bud sucked through.
