New Phx Ashcatcher (pic)

Hey, yesterday I went down to my headshop and bought myself a glass on glass phx ashcatcher for $70. I was going to get a roor ashcatcher but saw that the bowl piece for the roor was attached to the downstem in the ashcatcher... weird. I didn't like it. This phx ashcatcher has made such a noticable difference. I can snap the fattest bowls and not even notice how much im smoking because it's so smooth. Another thing I like is how it keeps my bong and perculator sooooo clean that the water I empty from the beaker isn't even bong water. My friend sold me that rasta roor bowl piece too for the ashcatcher. It's such a nice bowl piece its square shaped and super thick. I love my bong now

Throw some white rice in that catcher

it works real nice...
there is rice packed in the second female glass on glass joint (it's slightly darkened).

Rice helps it filter, or so I'm told. I know some people who put just rice in the bottom of their bong, to completely replace the water. Apparently it works pretty well.

And sick ashcatcher dude, that's definitely gonna be one of my next additions to my bong.

I heard rice works like the carbon filter ROOR makes but i dunno about trying it. Any noticable difference?

Very nice man. Im looking to get a Ashcatcher for my Trinity off eBay soon. Should cost me a little under $40. Oh yes, and how much do you love your bong cause i just cant get enough of mine. It's the Mercedes of smoking

Wouldnt the rice shoot up the downstem when you inhaled?

the rice works good because it creates hundreds of little cracks for the smoke to seperate and go through causing a larger surface area to "clean" the smoke. It has to be dry and ussually wouldnt be good to just put in a bong without an ashcatcher because it wouldnt cool the smoke much just clean it. It works exactly how a carbon filter does by cleaning the smoke without adding any taste or chemicals to it.

so do you put the rice in the ash catcher, the bong, or both?
