Tyrone C's cure to weed paranoia!
Ladies and Jentlemen! Today I have for you a guarentee, that will work to some degree, and without a cost to thee, you will be paranoia free!
First off, this very important message about curing that paranoid highness cannot be told without me letting you in on some important information. I am high. Reelee high. But to the point.
So do you ever get high and walk into a building, and just KNOW that everyone in the room is looking at you?
So you ever get high and feel OBLIGATED to avoid eye contact in order to hide your apparent redness?
Well shit! I might as well just be asking "Do you ever get high?"
But seriously folks, I have the solution. There are exceptions to this though, which I should get out of the way first. This is not effective in situations where parents, cops, any level of authority or anyone else that absolutely CAN'T know your high. This is more for everyday situations, when your out in the city ripped out of your head for example.
Well, lets take a look at stoners for a minute, and this here is where you should start really paying attention. Yes I understand the irony of the previous sentence, and am only slightly humoured by it. Stoners can be put into 2 categories: Good stoners, and bad stoners.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not calling stoners bad here, this isn't meant to be anything negative towards any stoners at all, but simply the way one acts high. And hell, to be honest, I'm sure all stoners have been a 'bad stoner' at some point or another.
But first, lets look at out good stoner. There are a few things tend to point him or her out rather easily. They sometimes - but not all of 'em - wear casual clothing all the time, dreadlocks and all the jazz, with red squinted eyes and a nice wide smile. But does any of this matter in this situation? No! It's that stoners attitude!
Lets now look at the second stoner - the bad one - before continuing with that thought. This stoner has some pretty defining staits as well, although they are much less geared towards style - and there's a reason for that. The bad stoner does have a few things in common with the good one. Well actually only one thing really, and thats the red eyes. The bad stoner often shifts their head quickly from place to place, finding random things to look at in order to not look suspicious (good job..), often they're panicy, and never make eye contact. These stoners are found in any type of style, with no real pattern of fashion. But does fashion make the different betweed a good stoner and a bad stoner? Hell no.
Again...the difference is attitude!
So how can people who aren't good stoners get this way? Change your attitude! I know I know, this sounds stupid, but I'm not asking you to change who you are...just look at it this way...
In public, what is often the main cause for paranoia? You not wanting people to know your ripped (or it's the cops...but too bad for you)! But often we have to ask outselves...why?
Whats so bad about random people we'll never see again knowing that we're high as a kite? Well common sense tells us that it's because they'll call the cops...but common sense has it's flaws. Think about it for a minute...out in public...who would really call the cops on someone being high? Not many people. Hell think of all the little crimes like being high that occur without the cops ever getting called, and thats when people get outright caught!
But okay okay, thats not the BEST solution right? I mean, going around thinking "Heh...no ones gonna call the cops on me!" isn't exactly going to ensure your safety right? Sure it'll kill the paranoia dead on, but it would be ignorant to think it's impossible to be caught.
So again, how can we make it VERY unlikely to get caught? Become a good stoner! See, why a good stoner is 'good' in this situation, is because they are "good" - to some degree - in the eyes of the public and the media. I mean think about it for a second...who's a more likeable stoner? The mellow nice guy who's chill with everyone, or the sketchy guy who's staring looking at every object in the room but another human eyeball?
Look in movies and stuff? It's always the mellow laid back dude who who's likeable. They are often so likeable that people seem to forget that they're committing the horrible horrible act of smoking weed! So ya know what, just shift your attitude a bit in a public place. As long as it's not overdone, it's fine to be nice to people! Hold the door open for the person behind you when walking into a public area, insted of trying to figure out if they know your high. If someone drops something, pick it up for them insted of cheering inside because you don't have to think of how your going to have an exuse NOT to make eye contact with them. People appreciate niceness and politeness, and it's not like it's a big inconvinience for you.
Holding the door open for someone while entering a building will completely change the mood. No longer will you fear that everyone is looking at you, but accept that they just may be looking at you, and saw the nice act that you did. All of a sudden those aren't accusing eyes looking at you, but appreciating ones. Now I'm not saying this is always the case, but it's a safe assumption our mind will often make, making a really sketchy paranoid ordeal into a really nice high one.
So whats the cure for a lot of this weed paranoia we all get at sometime or another? Mellow, chill, go out of your way to help people insted of going out of your way to stay out of their way. Smile, insted of looking scared and paranoid. It's okay.
I hope this all made sense, I'm sobering up now and really need to blaze so I'm gonna have to cut this off, but yeah! Just be cool and nice, and there's a good chance people won't even notice your high because of the appreciation they'll be feeling for you. Thats a lot better than hoping people won't notice your high when your just looking at random objects to keep your eyes busy, and everyone wins! A good deed like that really brightens someone's day, especially if it's going shitty, because it can remind them that there's always someone around who cares, no matter how alone they may feel at a certain time or place.
