Lighter vs. Match

Alright so im back visiting my old town, and one of my older smokin buddies 50+ was describing to me on the aspects of a lighter with butane vs. a regular match. At first i was like i think he lost his mind, but after thinkin about it, have you ever had a headache or migrain after you smoked that wasnt normal? chances are thast due to the butane in the lighter. Think about it, when your sucking in, your sucking in all that butane , but with a mathc, its just straight fire, so next time your smokin, think about smoking pure.... use a match

it might be harder to light and time consuming to use a match, but trust me , the high is actually better, your head is more "clear" if theres such a thing stoned. so go out and light a bowl up old school style with a match

i never noticed anything from a regular lighter really, but man, never hit a bong with a zippo, those are purely for joints.



matches are nice, but they are a hassle and run out fast. i normally keep a box in a cupboard just incase the lighters go missing or run out.

i only use matches if i ran out of lighters. lighters > matches imo.

I have smoked with matches and i really dont like them because they have this really gross sour taste and it kills your throat. I have never noticed a head ache with a lighter though.

this is just an idea for people that do get headaches most of the time, ya they are a bitch to light with, but imo it is a little cleaner to smoke with a straight match, but i usually use a lighter, just sometimes ill bust out matches

yea if ur usin a match u gotta wait for the sulfur to burn off until the wood is just on fire, ur gettin that bad taste from the chemicals on the match

There is still crap you're getting from a flame period, match or lighter. A lighter is superior, and I haven't really gotten weird and unexplained headaches.

if u want a pure taste, either go a solar hit(using a magnifying glass), or invest in a glow rod and use that
personally, i never notice a thing with a lighter

but, when i smoke joints or blunts, i do prefer to light with matches
matches help preserve the taste(supposed to light fine cigars with matches rather than a lighter as well)

well ive gotten headaches never really thought it was cause of the lighter till i noticed sometimes when i use a lighter the flame goes out and im still givin it a hit while still pressing the lil gas button and sucking in all that butane sht, i like matches but they are a lil bug though so i try to stop pressing the gas button while still givin it a hit

well, how long do u hold the flame over for?

myself, i just hold it for a fraction of a second to get a cherry and then get the hit purely from the cherry, not by holding the flame over the whole hit

only time ill use a match if for lighting a blunt, a joint, or a nice FINE cigar, since the match is supposed to preserve the flavor

it is almost impossible to get "pure" fire, even from matches, because the matches might be treated or something.

the only way i can think of actually consuming THC without inhaling weird things would be vaporizing (and i could be very wrong) or cooking it up and making brownies or something like that. green dragon too, i guess.
