Good bud vs bad bud

Hey guys, I recently started smoking/baking cannabis and am not to knowledgeable on the subject. I was just wondering if theres a way to tell the difference between good bud (stuff that will get you significantly high) and bad bud (stuff that will just give you a headache) by looking at it. I try not to smoke (I usualy bake it in something now).

Are there any tips on how you can tell the diff by simply looking at it or do you have to smoke some to tell?

How long does weed last? Like if I bought a 1/2 ounce, how long would it last for (contain enough THC to get high from), if I kept it in a plastic bag(ziploc).

It depends on how often you smoke. I can probably finish an ounce in 1.5 months as long as I don't share (which I do.) I smoke often but not much at a time and when my tolerance gets high I stop for a bit.

Yes you can tell by looking at it. Good bud will have little hairs (red, purple, etc) and look sort of shiny, you'll see little crystals on it. It'll also be sticky and smell strong, most of the time. It shouldn't have any seeds in it either.

Crap weed will also get you high but from my own experience I noticed that after you peak, you start feeling very tired and you usually end up being too tired and lazy to do anything for the next day or two. Also crap weed will look dry and have a weird smell. But I've had good weed that had a not so strong smell.

i smoke bud, and wanna smoke more bud for a few days, and thats what i do, its solves all of your problems with not wanting to do anything

Swag : Brown, lots of seeds, lots of stems, smells bad, gives you me headache
Mids : Brownish Greenish, seeds, not as many stems, smells alright, still gives me a headache
Chronic : MUST BE GREEN, no seeds, usually only a bottom stem or a couple in the bud, smells really potent

I meant how long does it last if you dont smoke it all though. Like, if you left a 1/2 ounce in a plastic bag for some amount of time, how long would the weed last until ud have to throw it away because it is old/has no THC?

I heard dried weed in a good container doesn't go bad and always has thc, so theres no real expiration date, but that seems a bit far fetched.

it'll keep forever. if it gets dry stick an orange peel in there for half a day and it'll moisten up again. i keep my stash in the freezer in ziploc bags. if it sits out with the bag open then it'll dry up fast and it'll burn harsh, but its still "good".

how long will it last? as in if you want to store it? well it technically never goes bad cause you can keep dried herbs around forever man (have oregano in your house?) but its just so much better the fresher it is. now how long will it /last/ depends on how much you smoke, i go through about an oz a week to a week and a half solo but then again i'm a heavy smoker. an ounce could last someone else a really long time like some of the conservationist smokers out there.

hey poor people need schwagg, if there was no shit weed in the world the lower class would be oppressed by having to buy 1/8 for 50-60 when they could get an o for that, so schwagg helps the economy balance plus it gets you high, plus i dont like rolling blunts with good shit tits a waste thats when schwagg shines, when its blunt time

it will keep fine in a ziplock for at least a few months BUT REMEMBER TO SEAL THE BAG and take the air out.. seems simple but lots of ppl don't bother they just let their shit lay half open.

As far as how long it lasts thats all up to you, how often you smoke etc. everyone is different

good bud vs bad bud = price most of the time, you get what you pay for with most dealers (don't deal with kids)

I dunno what mids or schwagg is anymore, since the clubs opened up its all dank bud.

But I would take in to consideration Density of the bud and color...

As far as hairs I dont really care about them, all good buds should have alot of hair.

From the bud Ive smoked the denser the bud its usually more potent...

lol, i hate to say this but generally i only have a few connects and only one of them deals in dank, and not on a regular basis. Schwagg on the other hand is abundant. Since I'll be getting some in a couple days, i'll post a pic or two of what "bad" bud looks like.

Yeh, schwagg gets you tired afterwards and doesn't leave you high nearly as long as good weed and you have to toke a bit more to get high and the high is much mellower and less energetic (i feel) than something like chronic or kush.

Still I get SO much of it for so little money and I go through it so slowly, I can only justify buying dank once in a long while when there's a party or something. I can make my .45 oz of schwagg last 2.5 weeks to 1 month (i usually smoke a bowl or two a day). Dank I make last about as long (i usually smoke one bowl a day), but it costs more, so I generally smoke craptastical schwagg . . . ah well, definately better than nothing imo.

The best way to store bud imo is in an airtight container and only remove how much you want for a week or so. But I just keep mine in a mason jar in the fridge, which works out ok. I don't recommend keeping bud in a baggie generally due to the fact that it's totally not airtight at all.

General rule though is to simply store it in a dark cool place with not too much sunlight and not alot of heat and it should last you a little while.
