| benefits of a bubbler?
hey i was just wondering what the benefit of a bubbler was, is it really worth it? i saw a nice sidecar one at a headshop today for $85, but i dont know what the benefits of a bubbler are. I've been using a glass spoon, and ive never thought to myself that the smoke is too hot etc, but i guess ive never smoked out of a bubbler before either so i guess i cant really compare. so what are the benefits of a bubbler, and do you think its worth the money?

Bubblers are definatly worth it... This crappy little plastic bubbler my friend has delivers hits 10 times smoother than my glass spoon. This glass bubbler I hit was heavenly, almost like there was no smoke at all, in fact I hit it way too hard because I thought I wasn't getting any smoke. Not as good as a bong but damn close.

There are several pros and cons to buying a bub. Pros #1- They use water filtration thus enabling you to take bigger rips and eventually get higher. #2- They are smaller than bongs and make it easier to hide if you must for whatever reasons. #3- They look cooler than a lot of shitty pipes and gizmos out there. Cons #1- They can come close to a bong, but not quite. #2-Harder to clean than a spoon (espicially if it is a sherlock bub). I might have left some out but those are the ones that will effect you the most. Overall, if you can't get a bong (money too tight or still living with the rents w/e the reason maybe) then a bubbler is definately a way to go. I recently bought a bub and it was such a great investment. Happy smokin' with whatever piece you chose. Jah Bless

Its a piece of glass, buy a nice good quality (thick) one that wont break. They are all the same, but some have more water than others. If it has more water it will warm up slower (if you care about this).

Try to get one where the water holding thing (forget the name) isn't close to the mouthpiece. Nothing ruins a hit like accidentally sucking in used water. Though with most bubblers you have to kind of hit them slow or that happens, at least in my experience.

I just got a sweet side-car bub yesterday. It is about 7 inches high and 4 inches wide. Blue and orange cane work with silver fuming. Its REALLY thick inside out glass with a REALLY solid joint. I would post a pic but I don't have access to a digi at the moment. Only paid $65 for it, too bad I don't have any bud to break her in.

Bubblers are sweet except for when you forget that there is water in it and you put it in your pocket which I have seen a few people do. But overall they are healthier for you and deliver a super smooth hit which is nice.

If im on the go or in a rush, I would use a spoon. But I love using my bubbler anytime. It hits so smooth and so much better. One of the benefits I find in using one is the sounds "blub" sound. Never get tired of it. |
