I love mj. have for about 30 years now. I can't imagine or care to imagine my life without her. I've used her for about every reason there is to. I've quit at times for diff. jobs. or at other times years ago when I began to believe a lot of crap about how bad it is for you. now a days, she opens my mind to explore any subject more deeply and from so many more angles. I'm better able to understand other people and their motives for their actions. I get along with people way better when I'm high. I don't expect to much from them, and have a lot more patience with things I find annoying when I'm not high.

Yeah some of the things you typed triggered my Hippie alarm, but I do agree with some points. I smoke to get stoned, but since I started back, I do feel alot more peaceful. I spend less time listening to death metal and darker music and have gotten back into alternative (Smashing Pumpkins, Silversun pickups). I also agree that it helps you feel things more intensely. It's nice to blast music on a nice system and just intake all of the sounds while you're smoked. Like the poster, sometimes it's hard to tell if I'm high. I've smoked everyday for awhile now. I'm a bit mentally addicted, but I may take a break after this quarter(nice Canadian sinse) is gone.

weed to me is just something to chill on. and everyone i know smokes so its a social thing too. i too use to smoke to get massively high and it was a big deal to do it like YEA LETS SMOKE SOME WEED!
nowadays it feels like...whatever. its as casual as cigarettes to me (even though i dont smoke cancer stix)
i even *sigh* when ppl wanna overdo it and smoke alot of weed. it almost feels like a bad habit...ive been wanting to take a break and be a weekend toker but its so hard when all the weed u have is free just sitting there. (sellers profit)

When i first started smoking fairly regularly i saw weed as an alternative to alcohol so i would only smoke on weekends and my goal would simply be to get as high as possible. I don't mean that I would trip out, I would just lie down and plan things and try to understand everything in my life. So at this stage I was starting to see weed as an alternative to cigarettes. I was smoking cones that were less than half the size that I could smoke and I wasn't smoking it as often as I could either. It felt like it was just a waste of money to smoke it all in one session. Because my tolerance was so high I didn't care what I was doing, I was doing it stoned. This is also the point where I stopped considering weed to be a drug (I still don't).

I'm now at the point where I just don't see the point of smoking anymore. It just seems like a waste of money and time. I'm not complaining about having too high of a tolerance. If anything I'm happy with having a high tolerance since I can still do the same shit I would do if I was sober... it's just more enjoyable.

I think it may simply be that I'm getting bored with smoking but then again I always enjoy it. It could be that I'm jealous of all the people who can enjoy life without pot. It could also be that I'm sick of all the shit that's come from smoking weed. My parents caught me 3 times in one day just last week and even though they don't care I still don't like them knowing I smoke. I also got busted for my first time (have been caught a few times before but was let off with warnings) by the cops last week. I've also gotten a lot tougher since I started smoking which I'm not sure is good or bad. Just last weekend I had 17 friends come help me fight these dealers who were sending me death threats when back before I was smoking I would have gone straight to the cops. There's just so much shit I've gone though that wouldn't have happened if I didn't smoke. All I know is that I never want to go back to seeing weed as an alternative to reality.

I only smoke every other day now and I feel the only reason for that is because I've become psychologically addicted to weed (too much of anything can make you an addict). I'm seriously considering quiting weed altogether. So anyway that's my life story haha. So what do you guys think? Is this just another phase I'm going through and soon I'll see weed in a new way or do you think I should just fuck it all off and start living legally? Have any of you ever felt this way? If so, what did you decide to do and how did it work out for you? I'm not sure if I can even go a month without smoking. Last time I tried to quit I went for 2 weeks

I am in your EXACT same position. The story you just described is exactly mine - except I would sit on the porch instead of the bed . It's losing its fun for me too. I remember the days when I would just live life - come home from school / work, hang out, dinner, go to bed. And now I feel like I have to smoke at night for my day to be complete - but really, it's not that fun anymore and just makes me really tired afterwards - turning my nights into a blur. None of my friends smoke because they're not as educated as I am (thats how I see it haha), so I want to try and cut back too. But whatever, it hasn't gotten in the way of my daily life or intelligence, so I see no real strong reason to quit or back off.
