Does licking (moistening) the joint paper lightly help it burn slower?

I keep licking my joints as they burn in hopes that it will burn slower that way, but I never think to pay attention to the actual results. Does it help at all?

I'v seen many people do that. Sometimes evan put the whole joint in their mouth. I think its just kinda gross and doesnt do shit.

It definently slows the burning of a paper that it's wrapped in. Usually you just wet your finger and touch the fast-burning side if the j's smoking unevenly. Other than that, there should be no reason to wet it I'd say. I don't roll very well, so I usually don't... but j's I've had rolled by others usually burn well. I'd say rethink your rolling technique before you wet anything... but then again I'm no expert, so no offense intended. I'm sure they'll be some chiming in soon enough. :]

That's my quick answer, anyway. I prefer glass, myself.

Great way to stop a "Run" on a joint mate, good advice. I want to remind you how thin a rolling paper is. Do you really think moistening that with saliva will slow the burning speed significantly? If your puffing on it, it will go down at a fast rate no matter what.

People talk a lot about how they moisten whatever type of paper there weed is rolled in in hopes that it will burn longer. But when you think abnout it... regardless of how fast or slow the joint burns it's still the same amount of weed...

If you're fixing a run though, that's a different story.. that saves qutie a bit.

Back in the 80's when i smoked blunts we wound put a thin layer of honey on the inside befor we add the herb,this made the blunt burn real slow...

Man, you have to wet your joint some, otherwise will more than likely trail. People may not believe that wetting your spliff will increase the burning time, but it will help you to take them extra hits. I roll joints, they are my favorite method of smoking weed, I know. Keep 'em coming.

I don't think you caught my point though. Sure, it may let you hit your joint a couple extra times.. but it isn't ADDING any weed. y'kno? Like, you're still getting exactly the same amount out of it. I just don't see the full point of it.

It's called baptizing and it stops joints from canoeing. Unless the person doing it is real slobbery I've never seen a problem with it.

I think what you aren't factoring into the equation is what's happening to the joint while you aren't smoking it. How much weed is burning up, that can be saved, while you are staring off into space?

ive smoked a couple honey coated blunts in ma day and they all toasted nice n even, however, i never was the 1 to actually apply the honey so a tip would be great cause im thinkin bout rollin 1 in a lil bit
