Definition of a Stoner...

i'm just looking for your opinions of the proper defintion of a "stoner". In my opinion, a stoner is someone who gets into all loads of shit about weed, reads up on it, knows his stuff, listens to the music asscociated with bud, gets all the paraphanelia, and respects everything about it, arranges places to go with stoner buddys. To me i would most defanately not label the sort of person who doesn't care about any of that shit, a person who just wants to get stoned how ever way he can, a stoner. I think that if you just smoke pot often it doesn't make you a stoner, i think theres much more to it than that.....

Word. Couldn't have said it better myself. Yes the people who want to get 'stoned' off of anything are fucking not stoners at all, more of crack heads. But yes I think you nailed the definition on the head. You have to feel every rythem associated with being a stoner. But I hate to label people, but if you do thats the chill way to label people.

I suppose I'm a stoner in the sense that I know what I'm doing and what I'm talking about. I could never adhere to the drug culture, however. I don't doodle pot leaves, I don't generally listen to "stoner" music, and I don't wear hemp or any other pot-related articles of clothing.
But I don't have any qualms about smoking someone out, even if I don't know 'em. I never stash weed for strictly personal use cause the high is always better when shared with another.

I'd have to disagree with that. Stoners come from all walks of life. If everyone listened to the same "stoner music" the culture wouldn't be that diverse. I do agree that a stoner should know the facts. But by your definition, I guess I wouldn't be a stoner.

I agree with six shooter. To me stoner is almost something of a compliment, becoming one is a cultural change. Someone who is just looking to get fucked up is what we called fienders, or just fiends if we're high and too lazy to add the extra errrrrrr sound.

Not surprisingly, most fiends that I've met have been female...or maybe they're just gold diggers.

Quick edit: There can be some leeway with the lifestyle, not every so-called stoner must be identical, because every culture must have certain requirements/restrictions or else it isn't really a culture at all. Without restrictions it becomes a made up nonexistant "melting pot", kinda like American culture.

you can't get addicted to weed like that needing it to function my cuzin smokes it everyday and he can go like a 5 weeks to 2 months and he is good he is a stoner someone who smokes pot everyday knows a lot about it knows what they do have a wide collection of piped bongs etc. and is always willing to supply you for free the people that smoke it just to get high are called potheads
