Dry Mouth and Dry Eyes from hell, help!

I started smoking weed about two years ago and now I'm to the point where I smoke about 4-6 times a week. Even though I've always gotten thirsty when I smoke, over the past six months I've started getting some really hellacious cottonmouth. Sometimes it gets to be so bad that I can't swallow because my throat feels puffy and dry. I'll chug a gallon of water over the two hour period I'm stoned out of pure necessity, but even that only helps enough to withstand the dry mouth. In addition to his ailment, I've started getting incredibly dry eyes. I wear contacts, but even without my contacts in my eyes get so dry I can hardly stand to open them. I've tried Visine, Clear Eyes, pure saline, and artificial tears, and they all help for about 2 minutes, but then my eyes are dry again. I really enjoy smoking for the social and psychoactive reasons of course, but these side effects are seriously degrading my pleasure to the point where it doesn't seem worth it to smoke. Everyone I know gets these side effects, but no one I know gets them as bad as me. I've tried finding some medical papers regarding these specific side effects of marijuana, but I haven't found anything helpful yet. If anyone has had these problems, or has some better medical info regarding these side effects, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks

the first time i got high i had cheez-its 15 mins after smoking and they turned into crumbs in my mouth... it was hilarious as i remember

EDIT: i also wear contacts, but i ahve never had dryness... even passed out with em in the waked n baked no difference, idk but my contacts are really comfortable

dude, i just got contacts and they dry out, but for non smoking and smoking use, visene for contacts wroks well to lube (haha lube...) your eyes so pick that shit up and for cotton mouth
drink some water while you smoke so it dont compound, or drink something with more substance like oj or summin

i have contacts and they never get dry and i havent taken them out for a long time i have the kind u can sleep in so maybe that helps keep them dry but i do get red eyes but visine takes care of that but i dont get cottonmouth either it sounds like that would be just shitty as hell

I was thinking it could possibly be something non weed related and that whenever I smoke it's just making what's always there worse. I'll probably tell my doctor next time I see him that it seems like I'm always thirsty and that my eyes are really dry all the time. Anyone else got any advice?

anyways. i dunno what you could do for the dry eyes, but for the cotton mouth, just chew some gum. if regular gum doesnt work, try some sour gum. that always gets me salivating.

get some of that bubblicious gum thats always creates a huge amount of saliva in my mouth and never gets my throat dry.

you could read his post before responding, no offense. I second the gum idea, and I find some good food also works in conjunction with a non-water drink. Like a bowl of soup, though I realize that isnt quite always available, so any sort of food that isn't too dry in conjunction with a drink that isnt water. Fruit for example. The eyes, I can't say, maybe try those mentholated eye drops, they're awesome. You could tell your doctor that allergies are making your eyes red and that over-the-counter medecine is not working. I know you already vowed to go, I'm just providing a good excuse.

AQUADROP
small hard candy that wes designed to hydrate you and taste good as fuck at the same time
ask for it at your local cvs, wallgreens,ekerds or walmart

all the scuba divers i know use aquadrops and you get shitty cotton mouth after a day of diving let me tell you!
