Make a bong out of my pipe?

Hey fellas, I just started tokin it up this year. I have a 30ish dollar glass i/o pipe that i got at the local tobacco shop. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I want to try a bong. I'm not ready to buy one yet, until I at least try one, so I was thinking of this cool idea.
The pipe itself is 4 inches long, and the hole you breath in through is the exact same circumfrence as a bendy straw. If i attach the straw to the pipe so it's air tight, put a piece of silly putty on the carb just so you dont have to hold it closed, and used a soda bottle as a water holder with a hole for the straw (airtyte of course), could it be a feasable bong? Here's a diagram (disregard all periods).

just use a pen and make a bowl out of some household items, dont try to put your glass piece inside a bottle

Looks like the water bongs i used to make when i was cheap and couldn't afford a nice pipe. Work well once or twice but anymore and you will be getting nasty ass hits.

OR you could just go to a head shop and ask for a bong stem and bowl ( like 5 bucks ) and then just grab a small dish soap bottle and make on from that. Thats what we do here if we want a bong.

water pipe. our local shop won't sell it unless you call it a water pipe.

yeah go get a stem/bowl and take a soda bottle and cut a hole near the bottom and slide it in... a downtube helps too... I did the same thing with a yard drink i got, look here second picture makes it easy to see what im talkin about http://forum.grasscity.com/recreatio...home+made+bong

P.S. i guess you could just stick your pipe through the bottom of a bottle, seal it off, cut a carb and you basically have the same thing

I think the pipe (depending on it's weight) might offset the balance to one side making it akward to hold if you try to intergrate it like that. If its small and a light weight pipe you should try it. If not just use the regular bottle idea and make a homemade bong.

I understand the diagram, simple design. If I were you I'd just make a regular bong though, go buy a slider.

Looks like what your shootin for in the diagram would work, but it also sounds like your goin way above and beyond what you'd actually need to do. Search the forums for home made bong, you'll come up with a lot of shit that would be easier to make, and would probably be a more sturdy peice.

lol it looks like a banana in a button up shirt with one long ass eyebrow. anyways how about you make a bong out of something then you can see how you like it instead of trying to get all macgyver and shit?
