Who is right? (hash question)

I was taught to make hash by compressing kif, which leaves you with a light brown brick of hash. However, EVERYBODY else I talk to claims that it's not hash and that hash is made from resin and stems, and it will be a blackish color(soft to touch). Personally that sounds disgusting, so who is right? What is real hash?

You can't really define REAL hash. There are just many different ways to form hash, some are much different then others. So to answer your question, hash is just compressed resin/trichomes .... there are just many different ways to form the end result.

well from what Ive seen GOOD hash is a goldish color. If your friends tell you otherwise it probably means they havent made it and have only bought bad hash. Most hash on the street is filled with stuff to give it shape since it takes a lot of kif to make hash as other people have said in other topics.

The pure stuff is gold(in more ways than 1 , the black stuff has contaminents.

your friends are ignorant. stems and leaves are ingerdients they dont define what your making. hash is what these guys all said compressed trichs to get you higher (smoking more trichs up at once gets you more high) the same reason why bigger hits get you more high :P and besides the best hash is oil extracted

well here's what i know, the quality depends on how much thc is in it..........most common hash's are from the buds leaves and stems and then to help stick it together, and cut it, they add contaminents, like rubber, boot polish, bees wax etc...........commonly known in the uk as "soapbar"

better hash is made moreso of buds i.e trichs, and leaves, as a lot of leaves have trichs on them and therefore thc...........that said, black hash does not allways mean that it's bad hash, nepelese and others such as "soft black" commonly available in the U.K. in the late 80's early nineties was a dynamite hash, and "black"............... http://www.smokersguide.com/sg/index.html

best way to check for contaminents is to get a bit of hash about the size of a matchstick head, and burn it on a bit of steel of glass, it should catch fire slightly, and burn with a kind of silver/white smoke, and when the flame goes out and it's burned down, it should leave a little circle of resin...........if it burns a diff colour and leaves no resin circle, it's been contaminated...............well that's what i learned while in Amsterdam anyway.......take from it what yous will.

Defining hash is easy...

Asian hash is hand pulled and finger rolled then compressed....middle eastern variaties are done in many different ways as do Indian. Some do ice water bubbler hash...good shit.

Others just make finger hash and smoke that...

I personally love vapo hash.... it's bits of bud that collect in your whip and resin up with loads of thc... it comes out looking like a ball of blackish brown tea thats coated in clear and slightly hashy brown thc... one hit shit. It's like Salvia 20x but in thc...fucking awsome and no leeching chems were used.

Oh and any moron saying hash is stems and resin....smack them hard. Even soapbar shit has some pollen and grassy matter in it...
