Is this homeade THING ok to smoke out of???

I made this real simple thing, i emptied a pen out so i just have a hollow plastic tube... and then at the end i put a rolled up bowl shaped soda can piece on the top to put the bud in, and then just light it and toke from the other side of the pen.

Smoking and plastic is always risky...make sure the plastic parts don't get hot...

i noticed after smoking it for a while, the plastic started to brown and melt kinda at the tip... but im ok and dont feel bad!

meh your not going to die from smoking it or anything but smoking from soda cans suck because first you have fumes from the aluminum and then from the paint and then if the plastic from the pen gets hot enough then plastic fumes too. id say make something different or buy a glass piece. i still smoke out of a shitty homemade piece for some reason i think it has some kind of sentimental value now made out of home depot parts it works just fine tho.

yea, i used to use the bic pens and all the household stuff b4 i got my pieces (good old days) but sometimes if ur in a big session you forget about the plastic and b4 u know it, it'll melt and every hit tastes worse and worse. so if ur gonna use a pen have a dish of water next to u so when it gets to hot dip it in and let it cool off (it'll his and steam when it 2 hot)

you also have to be careful with smoking with the pop can because in the long run the fumes from the ink on the can burning can cause altimers (sp) id sugest seeing if you can get your hands on a real bowl but it sounds like what you have now is goin pretty well for ya.

i say it's probably ok.

now with the can, poke like 4 holes with a pen and scrape all the paint arround where the weed will be and wash it out with some water, the a paper towel with rubbing alchohal on it to take away all the paint particals. Then wash it really really good again with water to make sure the alchohal residue is gone and to make sure it's clean. You don't wanna smoke the paint off the can or your brain might not be working as good as it used to

dude if i was u instead of maken a pipe like that if u have it its called a flea market and they have pipels like for 10 bucks buy one of those alot safer for u

Can't be any worse to smoke out of than a soda can, a pen and a gum wraper bong that I made in like 8th grade. I can't say it was the best thing to smoke out of but what the hell you only live once. Smoke it up and have a good time. Megan

sup man. good idea for an improvised piece, sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do for the sweet sticky icky. anyway, i have many years of biology under my belt and i know for a fact that there is no enzyme in the human body which can process and/or dissolve aluminum. for this fact, i say try to avoid smoking out of it if u can. ive also read a few reputable documents which state that ingesting aluminum particles could possibly lead to alzheimer's disease. i personally am not sure if this is true or not, but i dont think you should be using it if u dont have to. i smoked lots of good stuff outa an aluminum foil pipe when i was younger. i do not want to ahve to do it anymore. buy yourself a nice piece (stone is cool) and treat your herb to a nice place to burn.
