How to Make Homemade Bongs

Hello everybody, I am a Megiver Smoker. If you don’t know what that means, than it you should get a damn brain and watch "Half Baked". Or it just means I like to make smoking accessories out of what ever I can. I like to do this cause it is an outlet for my imagination, you can smoke bud after your done making it, it’s a lot cheaper than buying bongs, and it gives the piece more emotional value. The first pipe I made was what I smoked first out of, well I actually didn’t make it, all I did was put a screen into a quarter turn iron pipe fitting and took in more flame than smoke, could only take half a hit without burning your throat. The second one was made out of metal pipe too, but it rusted and I got caught so I had to through it away. Two years later I made the "Bat" as in baseball bat. I was camping and cut down a Birch tree and carved the beginnings of a pipe out of it. When I got home the wood had cracked and my drill bits were too short to hollow it out, plus I screwed up the bowl; so I cut off about a quarter length, added an expansion chamber from my paintball gun as the mouth piece and got a faucet fitting as the bowl from home depot. I know it looks hella ghetto, all my pieces do, but it hits good and it was the first successful piece I made. The second piece I made was "Das Bagpipe", I know the name is weird but I am a stoner so I don’t care. Either way it is a triple filtered water bong, the first filter is the four looking grey thing in front, the second filter is the low part of the clear tubing where the water collects after the first hit, and the last is the large chamber that is black. The mouth piece is made from a Pog holder if you remember those, and the bowl is made out of a striped Mag-lite, finding what to make the bowl out of is the hardest part in making a bong, cause if it touches flame than it has to be safe. The rest is just PVC, if you have any comments on that just post them. The next thing I made was the "Pecker", it is the small straight wood piece. I made it in about a half an hour and does the trick for smoking roaches. Next is the "Pipe Bomb", this is in my opinion the most ingenious one. Just follow the red arrow in the picture and if you don’t get the idea just post and I’ll explain. Then there is "Cornelius" the artistic one that looks like a PVC and wood steak. The last is the small wood pipe called "árbol" and is Spanish for tree (pronounced "air-Bowl"), I made it for my brother and he thought it was a good name cause it sounds like bowl, and since I made it out of a tangerine tree branch it comes from a tree. The one I tried to make today was going to be called the"Sickle" until I gave up on it, you can probably guess which one that is, it’s in the trash now. I tried to make a bong out of acrylic sheets and screwed up big time. This is why I am posting this, if anyone knows how to make bongs out of acrylic and just simple tools, let me know, I am not going to give up, I will make an acrylic bong, thank you.

"Cornilius"is Last

theyre all pretty interesting, looks like theyd be fun to make it least. give ya somethin to do ya know. but yea, id suggest buying you a nice glass bong. save up 30 bucks and buy you a decent one that interests you and just use that. its a good investment

Okay, the egg is pretty damn cool, i wish i had thought of that. Also as to the cleanliness of the bongs, it is top toch, every piece i that is wood is bleached and every PVC part is washed throughly. I do have some purchaced pieces that i have left out of the pictures, cause who cares about those, anyone can buy them, but only i can make the "Pipe Bomb", that is why i like to make stuff and not buy. Of coarse i do buy some stuff just to let people know i am not straight redneck, but busting out "Das Bagpipe" even in front of the most seasoned smokers has gotten me props. But please if anyone has any tips on molding acrylic so i can make a pro bong let me know. I have found out that using a plumber's tourch heats it too quickly and causes bubbleing, just see the pic, and burning which is even worse. I know you can't use conventional kitchen ovens cause the fumes are explosive, but i am thinking of heating up two pans and then placeing the sheet in between them, maybe that will help. If you too are looking to mold acrylic, these are a couple of links that have helped me in the blueprint process

Da Bat looks nice, but can you post some more pictures of Pipe Bomb.. i'm still not sure how that thing is working...Looks nice...

Thanks for correcting me about MacGyver, I was stoned when i wrote that and felt too lazy to look up the correct spelling, well i am stoned now too but that doesn't really matter. Either way, the pipe bomb is a double filtered water bong and has the bowl (Blue arrow), which is a glass chillum i got from a local head shop called "Patrick" cause it has an emblem of Patrick Star from Sponge Bob in the bubble that acts as a handle. Now refer back to the paintshop drawing, The blue arrow pointing down is where "Patrick" goes, and once you light up and enhale the smoke travels (follow red line) down through an inner tube (grey section) surrounded by a larger tube (white section) into the bottom on the smaller resevour (purple arrow) down at the crooked bottom section which looks to be submerged in blue (suposed to be water), then travels up into a PVC T-section fitting found within the hollow of the large PVC tube (pink section). The T section is closed at the top so it really only acts as a 90 degree fitting which then travels into the second water resevour found to the right (green arrow in picture). After it travels through the second water filter it is up and out through the outer most PVC section to the mouth piece. The three extra photos are "Patrick" which i now looks dirty, but that is what you deal with when you purchase clear glass, unless you want to take a pipe cleaner to it after every smoke. The next is an angled, closer picture which is taken on top of the seat of an office chair, just so you can relate the size. The third is a picture of the mouth piece and inside it, where you can see the PVC T-section fitting. If you want to know how to make a Pipe Bomb yourself, just post and i will make another with step by step instructions.

The pipe bomb is FUCKING AWSOME dude ... i want !! .. im gunna start fletching my own pipes soon, ive really got into fletching various things recently but never thought to fletch a pipe .. good plan *runs off to get a fletching knive and find some trees !*

3 things, one what is fletching, it may have been a word that has just avoided my pot jargon all these years, or maybe you made it up, two the Pipe Bomb is PVC so I am not sure what your going to need a tree for, three, all of the wood pipes that I have are done just from drilling and using different sized drill bits, very little widdling was involved, I tried to entirely widdle a pipe once, it was Da Bat but it didn't turn out to well so I just ended up drilling, if you can come up with any specific skills for widdling a pipe let me know, and also if your going to use wood, let it soak in water with a little bleach in it for about 2 days with the bark on, so it doesn't split.

P.S.-I have already made a couple of acrylic bongs and posted them in the thread titled, "Homemade Acrylic Bongs" and have already gotten 2 orders for custom bongs, so that has worked out in the end, thanks for your help and support.

i just took my copper bud bat,it was like 2.5 inch long,and stick it in a water bottle sealed it up and put in a little bigger bowl,that thing hit like a dream,back when i was to poor to afford a real pipe/bong....
