Does anybody know if brass screens are more harmful to smoke out of then steel ones? Or is brass the same as steel.

As long as they don't produce fumes when hot, they all work.

And no...brass and steel are definitely not the same. Or have you ever seen a steel trumpet?

From my experience I'd go steel, I've had a brass screen get a hole burnt through it and I took that hit, that was the fucking worst, but I've never seen a hole get burnt through a steel screen. The weird thing is though I thought brass has a higher heat tolerance than steel, but I guess now, I know for sure the brass was more bendable than the steel though, but the steel is fine, this was such a pointless rant 0_0.

Yea, I was j/w cuz I had to replace the screen in my vaporizer whip and all the headshop had was brass screens. I'm not so much worried about the durability as much as toxic fumes. I just wanted to make sure brass wasn't toxic like aluminum foil.

Aight...brass is an alloy of copper and zinc...

Both can give metal fume fever. And copper can irritate yer lungs. But as long as they sell it at a headshop, it's gotta be safe. They prolly don't fume at such low temperatures.

I've seen from searching that some people claim that brass "tastes like ass". I've only used steel and it's worked like a charm every time.

I use glass screens for all my pieces. I think I've had some titanium screens before. They were silver, and were really stiff, alot stiffer than any of the steel ones I've had.. I thought they worked pretty good.

I dunno which is better. I've never used a screen in any of my pieces. Though I do have a pack of each type from the last shipment I got from the City shop, but I havn't used any of them.

Well if you have a metal pipe that usually uses a metal screen of sorts, the glass one will probably be too small since the holes in metal bowls are very big, no?
