1. dont use paper for the stem, because when you stick it in the water it will disolve and prolly burn when you try to light the bud.
2. i use a soda can, i cut a hole in the soda can, square about 1" by 1" then roll it into a cone shape(take the cone shape and stick it under a lighter for a while turning it occasionally, until you see fumes coming off and the color of the can to change color, i do this to get rid of the toxic chemicals produced from the burning of the ink on the can) then I put it in a pen tube, i usually use plastic since thats whats usually lying around, and i stick it in there really tight so that it stays without falling out, i use that as the stem, then i do what that dude said, with the plastic soda bottle, except i dont use a lighter to make the holes(b/c it warps the plastic, as he said), i use something that burns but doesnt light on fire, (ie. incense or ciggerete, or you could use a small piece of wood, if you monuver(sp) it correctly.)
don't use aluminum, its not airtight, ive tryed it before.

i would post a pic of the 5 that i have made. but i left them all outside, in this fort thing that noone goes up in, and i left the bong water in them, and the other night it got below freezing, and froze them all into ice.
i might try to take a pic anyway, alittle later, when i feel like going to retrieve them.

But i thought using plastic 4 the stem is dangerous because it releases plastic fumes...?

thats what i thought too, but when you use a fairly long bowl(ie. the soda can) the heat doesnt get it hot enough to melt the plastic

hrm..maybe ill wait 4 the pic b4 i make 1 just 2 make sure. For now, im stuck with a steel-filtered pipe.

heres the pics, plus what i got today(its only mids, but this dude sells really high quality mids, it even got my high tolerance friends fucked up on a few hits), and my first joint that ive ever rolled, is it good?

on the bottle, where my first finger is, is where the carb is, see how its not warped or anything, its cause i used incense to burn the hole.
