newbie question

Hi all,
A little background...
I am a 50 yo female who smoked several years ago.....had kids, and gave it up.
Lost my 26 yo son 2 years ago.
Am currently on BP meds and antidepressants and ambien to sleep at night.
Recently I decided to try some pot again since I enjoyed it very much before. ....So I get it from my brother who is a long-time smoker.
The first few times, I was disappointed because it just gave me a slight high and I was very paranoid.
Well....last night he told me to try this last one...promised me that it waw the best stuff he had in a long while (very expensive crap).
Well I smoked about half a joint and wow.... I loved it. It made me feel mellow and good and not one bit of paranoia....BUT today, I cannot wake up. I went to bed at 10:30 pm and I slept until 1:30 pm...and its almost 4 now and I still feel sleepy.
I would like to smoke more tonight but I have to work tomorrow and I probably won't because of that....
My question is.....is it normal for pot to make you sleepy like that ? Maybe it wasn't the pot...Is that a normal side effect ?

Yeah that's a burnout side-effect, it could be the pot mixing with your ambien or other meds, I'd watch that.

On another note, I'm sorry to hear about your son, I hope this isn't prying, but how did it happen?

He died of a seizure....in his sleep. Totally unexpected.

Yep could be your othermeds or even the type of smoke .

Yeah... Just drink some coffee and it'll go away after a while.

Sometimes when I smoke and go to sleep soon after I sleep for close to 10-12 hours.

the first time i REALLY got high...i seemed to have felt it for a couple of days...i was new to it and it was some high grade dank weed, so...its normal to be tired and groggy, splash water on ur face and drink LOTS of caffine

You probably shouldn't be mixing the Ambien with the MJ. You should just smoke before you go to bed cus smoking puts you to sleep anyway.
