Quality item, Bubbler or Bong?

Alright I'm lookin to invest in a pipe for about the next 3 years while i finish college. I really like smoking with alot of people so i figure a bong though i like to smoke by myself occasionally so thats why i figure a bubbler. Normally I just make a psuedo bong out of a water bottle but i think now is the time to get a better one since sometimes i botch up making a pipe badly and then everyone goes home sober. In your opinion, if you had to have a smoking untensil, would you use a bubbler or a bong?

I couldnt tell ya man. from what ive heard about bubblers, they sound pretty good. but from what i can imagine a bubbler being like id rather smoke from a Bong.

my guess is a bong would be because a bong has alittle thicker glass and if your going to be with alot of people you wont strength, and also it will take less hits for all the ppl you'll be smoking out so you can get more faded in less time .

and its just more of a party thing anyway.

id say go for the bubbler! its a fun little thing most people dont use, or maybe its just me... im the only person i know who owns a bubbler, everyones just got a little pipe or a bong. get a realllllly reallllly big bubbler if u can... ive got a freakin huge one, people are like waaaatttt??? lol anyways, go for a big big bubbler that can rip like crazy. it'll be good for solo and group use.

man...as cool as bubblers on...you gotta go with the bong man, when you think of it from a economical perspective a bong is going to get you ripped better than a bubbler..so you smoke less weed and then you could save enough to buy a bubbler....man...it would never happen in reall life though, ...man .....I love saying man, and dude!...

how about a nice large hookah with maybe 4 hoses? i remember i got my hands on 1 one time. packed a full 1/8 into the bowl and lit a big charcoal ball, placed the charcoal ontop of the bud so we didnt have to get up for about an hour, threw a little tobacco in the mix (i wouldnt have but it wasnt my bud or hookah or frat house lol) and just smoked for a good 45 minutes without ever moving. then a joint and a bowl but thats besides the point, lol. this came to me as a good idea cus u said ur in college. right where i smoked it.

Tuff choice. I used to own both a small glass bubbler, and a 1 foot glass bong.

The bong undoubtedly gave the smoother hits. Dont get me wrong, the bubbler still gave much smoother hits than a dry piece, but i guess the extra air and water volume of the bong just gives it an edge. I'd imagine however if you got a larger bubbler with a larger chamber the difference would be less noticeable.

The bong was alot easier to clean and maintain. Bubblers are somewhat of a bitch to clean out cause you cant get any kind of tool to scrape out the inside easily. Not a big deal really, just use rubbing alcohol and salt, still does the trick. If you ever smoke resin tho, Its really difficult to collect from bubblers, again not a big deal unless your some sort of resin freak.

The nice thing about bongs is that they have the removable slide bowl. This comes in handy whenever a bowl is finished, cause you can simply flip the bowl upside down, stick it over the slide and suck the ash into the bong water. With bubblers you generally just gotta suck the ash through, because if you try and dump it out your gonna get wet. (If you got a bubbler with a removable slide this would remedy this inconvienience however i dont think they look as cool this way)

All that being said, Id rather have a bubbler over a bong. Their are certain intangible qualities you get with a bubbler. I just like the feel of smoking through a bubbler, your just chilling on your fat waterfiltered pipe. Also, when i smoke alone I generally like to just take small, smooth tokes and just relax with it, Bongs are sorta more involving, and generally work alot better only with big hits. Plus you get the uniqueness factor, everyone and their grandma has a bong, but very few people have bubblers.

Also, If your going glass (the only bubblers ive ever seen are handblown glass) do yourself a favor and dont blow a ton of cash on a super expensive piece. The reason i reffered to my bubbler and bong in the past tense is cause I broke them both

Oh, I really wouldnt recomend a hookah. Theirs nothing better when you have a large group of people together, with a free room to smoke for an hour, but thats just about the one and only situation where hookah's shine. They are a tooooooooooootal bitch to clean, After a while those rubber hoses are gonna turn to pure ass as they collect resin, and water and ash inside them. Eventually the whole thing will be virtually unsmokable just because it will taste so bad.

They are also quite top heavy and super easy to knock over because your holding onto the hose, and if you tug it your gonna pull the hookah down. When you combine this with the fact that your going to be high absent minded and uncoordinated, its a pretty regular occurance to see the hookah come crashing down, spilling ash, and red hot charcoal all over your nice carpet.

Im not just hypothesizing on this, These are all personal experiences with extensive hookah use.

hard to clean, makes lots of sense. i probally didnt think of this cus it wasnt mine and just smoked it once. all the points above make enough sense to influence me to say no to the hookah.

Bubblers are fucking nice man. I love mine. It hits sooo smooth, but its small enough to carry around in my pocket, and it gets you blasted.

Wow, what a hard choice. If i were you, I would weigh my priorities.

a bong a nice, but I myself don't like taking in huge hits. hitting a bong is fun, but i once smoked out of a bong for a whole summer, and my lungs really got tired of taking huge hit after hit.

now a bubbler is really cool looking. it might be a pain in the ass to clean and shit, but i love smoking out of these. nice smooth hits, and these things are great for passing around.

over all i think both are good, and you really can't go wrong. i would go to a headshop and just look at both, find a few in your price range, and pick whichev er looks the best.

my bro just got a handmade bubbler on clearance at a smoke shop for 20 bucks! they are very nice looking, i can't wait to use it...
so if you can find one that cheap, just get both! you could even get a 2-hose hookah or something with the bubbler for 100 bucks or so... at least at my local smoke shop you can!

my solution: get a $25 acrylic bong, and a $50-75 glass bubbler, and youll have both for the price of one!
