1) I was wondering if anyone knew if a bong with a built in ice holder would be better versus a regular bong with crushed ice in it. Since the bong with the built in ice holder is more expensive, should I pay more for that or just get a regular bong. I dunno if one acts more efficient then the other for filtering and cooling smoke.

2) I was wondering if anyone knew the optimol(sp) size for a bong in order to have enough space water to filter/cool efficently and enough for the smoke chamber (ex: 6" 8" 12" etc).

1. It all depends on preference. My bong is blown so the inside goes kinda slants in, then back out, so it holds ice. I like having that. At night I usually smoke bongs in my room, and my parents is next door so having the "glug glug glug" sound from a bong isn't always the best. So, I just don't use water, and fill it up with ice. The ice cools the hit down so everything is smooth, but you gotta add new ice after every bowl or so, because the smoke melts it pretty quick.

2. As far as optimal size goes, I'm not sure, and it could be largely based on preference. But my bong is only 10 or so inches tall, and it keeps the smoke nice and cool. I'd say as long as the smoke passes through ice/cold water or whatever, it'll be nice and filtered. A friend of mine has a 4" or so glass Kaoz bong with the base about as big around as a soda can, and it hits nice and smoothly.

By the way, what bong are you looking at? A RooR, by any chance?

just buy a regular bong and 30 minutes before u toke, put it in the fridge......then, u get the same results as the built in ice holder......

so, dont waste ya money........

yeah just get a normal bong. often crushed ice works better than cubes anyway. as for the size, get a midsized bong. nothing too big, nothing to small, substantial chamber but nothing you couldn't inhale with say 1/4 of your lungpower.

I would get a bong with an Ice catcher man.. I've had both kinds, and I prefer one with an ice catcher.
