quick newb like question.

Ok I've never rolled a joint or a blunt before.
My friends always roll them or they are already smoking out of one.

So heres my question
What the fuck is a roach in a joint? And whats a roach in a blunt?
I'm totally lost here...
Is a roach just the pot close to were you suck in? Or is it a cigarete filter? Or is extra paper? Is there even a difference between a blunt roach and a joint roach?
I'm confused...lol!!

To me, a roach was the end of the joint that was just too short to smoke. That's what roach clips are for...so you can smoke the rest of that baby.I still call that a roach and always will. I have a whole tin of them right now. During 'desperate' times, they come in quite handy.

Overseas, the roach is the paper filter that they add to the end of their j's. I learned that when I got the Futurola. They add this thicker paper 'filter' type deal to the end and that enables one to smoke the j all the way to the end without the use of roach clips or a toke stone.

Even with roach clips or a toke stone, you still end up with a roach left over...just a smaller one. The way they do it over there across the water, there's nothing left after you smoke. The 'filter' that really isn't a filter and only paper leaves nothing left over.

^^^^ spot on, exactly the way we do it over here, also the paper is used as a roach to stop "rockies" (hot pieces of hash) from entering your mouth and burning the shit out of your mouth............i don't know why it hasn't been adopted more in the States, as you do get all the weed, and no burned lips..............Peace out.........Sid

im in canada, and i roll joints with a little carboard filter too. i get them for free at a head shop whenever i go there..this is what the ones i use look like. notice the joint in the turtles mouth and his blood shot eyes

I'm sure lots of people have tried it, but does it work to take one of those plastic roach's they have on cigars and put it on a blunt you just rolled? That would hit very nicely.

i would stop puffin on it with about 1/4 inch of the weed left, i like keepin em and rollin up a fattie when i have lots

The easiest way for someone who doesn't know how to roll is to get a Black & Mild and unpack the tobacco and repack it with weed (using a pencil or pen to pack it) and twist off the end.

I'm from the States and prefer roaches in my joints (roaches, as in the rolled up paper). I use em in blunts too sometimes, especailly with wraps.

And yeah, I've used those Black and Mild tips before.

you dont smoke the cardboard "filters". You just roll it into a tube shape and stick it in the end of a rolled joint so you can hold onto the roach without it burning your fingers. It also helps keep the paper from getting matted down when it gets wet from your lips...

everytime I've smoked a blunt there isn't anything like a "roach" or cardboard paper or whatever at the end of it where I smoke...
But my friends still call it a roach.
So can a roach simply be the weed and the cigar paper at the very end of a blunt?

A roach, contrary to what anyone else will tell you, is the very end of a joint/blunt that you can no longer smoke. It's the very end of the weed/paper/anything else that you can't hit.

It's called a "roach" because it's pretty much useless as far as smoking, just like the bug.

roaches arnt useless for smoking i save mine and pack a bowl with em. they come in handy when your in need.
