cleaning my glass pipe....

im about to boil my glass pipe but i dont know how long to boil it or anything like that without hurting it so if anyone can tell me how long i need to leave it boilig i would appreciate it.

The glass will be fine, it can handle boiling water, but 2-3 minutes sitting in boiling water is good enough.

when i clean my glass pipes, i get the water boiling, then the water in another pan or bowl or somthing, THEN i put the pipe in, also, i soak it in hot water from the tap so the temperature change isnt to drastic that it cracks, my very first glass spoon i ever had broke like that, it went from cold to hot too quick and cracked

its not a very good idea just to put your pipe in a pan of boiling water, because, once the resin hits the pipe really, it just scrapes off easy as hell, plus, sometimes things bouce around in boiling water, i dont want my pipe bouncing like that, you get the same results just pouring it in a bowl, and setting your pipe in there for a couple minutes

when i clean my pipe, i just use rubbing alcohol and pipe cleaners......rubbing alcohol works wonders on the resin and the materials are very cheap......about $.75 for a bottle of alcohol (3 cleaning sessions worth) and about $2 for 100 pipe cleaners
