Pothead vs Stoner

My friends and i have been arguing about this for a while- Are you a pothead or a stoner? We came to the conclusion that a stoner is someone who doesnt necesarily smoke every day, but only smokes the best shit they can get. Hence the name "stoner"- they smoke only for the best quality high. On the otherhand, a pothead is someone who smokes almost every day, anything they can get their hands on, regardless of how good of a high it will give you. I think im a stoner, because i dont even really like smoking shwag because it just makes me tired. Ill take 1 great high off of dank shit then 4 crappy highs off shwag anyday. What are you?

This is what I think. A pothead is someone who lives by the weed and die's by the weed. A stoner is someone who just tokes up and doesn't worry about missing 4:20... But I am pothead i geuss I love weed I love smoking it, I love growing it, I love hookin up my bro's with a fat sac, so ya I'm a pot head.......

I never really gave this any thought until now.

I would agree with basically what has previously been said.

I think the quality of bud consumed between each type of smoker wouldn't really change.
However, I could see how a pothead might smoke more schwag than a stoner, because if he/she is low on cash and needs to smoke, they'll just buy crap bud.

Personal circumstances (I'm poor) dictate that I buy the lower
classes of weed. Basically mids and regs. So I guess you
could call me a pothead. However, when I start growing, I
plan on being a stoner for life.

I think each term is just used to call a person who smokes pot. People at my old highschool used it more as a put down than anything.

already the definitions are contradicting each other. i don't care what you call me. i usually only smoke the best herb in town.. but sometimes money issues and transportation issues force me to buy schwag (decent schwag.. but schwag nonetheless). i smoke weed nearly everyday. sometimes more than once in a day. but if i could care less if i missed 4:20 or not be able to smoke that day and i'm not really into other drugs. but i'll give them a try. i'll drink alcohol.. but only in binge form. and that's maybe once a week on the weekends. i recently just tried cocaine.. but i didn't like it and i don't think i'll do it again if somebody offers it to me. and this weekend i did ecstacy for the first time. i absolutely loved it. but i can't see myself doing it more than a few times a year on very special occasions. call me what you will. i'm just your typical laid back southern california type of guy.

Yeah, stoners don't smoke ALL the time, but they try for the best weed. Potheads are people who smoke just about anything, and do it ALL/most of the time. I think, anyways.

im the same way, as a poor college kid, i cant afford to smoke alot. But i save my money for some great shit and then enjoy the better high. Thats just me though.

I've been called stoner and potheaad and never really knew there was a great difference. I like the word stoner more, it sounds more distinguished.
