easy way to roll a tight joint

i, personally, have loved joints since i smoked my first. the problem is, i could never roll a decent joint. id have to bug my brother or my friends to roll for me. so i decided maybe id buy a rolling machine. then i realized how expensive they are and said screw that. i could buy 2 packs of papers for $3 and practice until i got good. then i got an idea that actually worked really good.

first, find a nice, round pencil. it should be just as thick as the joint you want. take your paper and roll it around the pencil, nice and tight. lick it, and let it dry around the pencil. now you have your paper in the shape of a joint, just empty.

now find a pen or pencil that is a bit thinner than the pencil you had before. take your paper and pour your broken up weed into it. every once in a while take the thinner pencil and push your weed down, pack it nice and tight. keep repeating until your joint is full with weed.

i realized if you twist the bottom of the joint before pouring your shake into it, nothing falls out.

when you have the whole joint packed nice and tight, roll the ends and let it dry a little more. i like to hold it a couple inched above the flame of a lighter.

this joint looks nice as hell. its real tight and perfectly shaped. once i light it up ill let you guys know how it burns. peace.

Joint rollers are too expensive? I got mine for 3 bucks in a gas station... rolls them as tight, or as lose as you want them.. and it takes me about 10 seconds to roll one out...

I got a roller, a grinder, and a pack of papers at my head shop for 10$, i used to do that pencil crap, but its too damn time consuming, though the roaches for those joints are soaked as hell in resin.

re= pic....where's the roach?

Sounds like investing in a rolling mat wld be a cunning plan for you to keep in mind. Or even investing in an afternoon spent watching and rollin wit a mate who can roll shit-hot?
In the meantime mats are only like a quid fifty...dunno wot that is in US$

B.T.W. personally i despise anything that gets in the way of my smoking apart from spliffstix. they are cool, even if they do make blokes look a bit camp. I despise rolling machines especially. U need to bond with your gear man - gear is your friend! plus rolling machines are just crap.

I always thought it was too much of a pain in the ass to roll around a pen or pencil and pack it. I just practiced and by the end of my first pack of papers I could roll fairly consistent joints that didn't look that great, but smoked well and the more I practiced the better they looked. One tip that helps a lot of people roll is to take a couple tokes off a pipe first to get a little buzz going. Then sit and roll until one comes out decent and smoke that. It not only gives you motivation to continue the smoking, but for some reason it's easier to roll when you have a buzz going.

Well, I'm not a big joint roller, but whenever I do, I just use the dollar bill method.
That always gets it tight enough for me.

Forgive me for sounding so ignorant, but what is the dollar bill method?

put the pot in a dollar bill and roll and shape it. then insert a paper and work the paper around the pot and roll it up. Not very descriptive, but I just woke up and am not in a descriptive mood right now.
